A quote from history, 'Nero fiddled while Rome burns' ..... The modern day version is, 'Cameron goes on holiday while Calais burns'! What on earth is wrong with the man, this is a major crisis, we are being invaded for Christs sake, and he chooses to swan off on holiday, AGAIN!!

It's not like he's patrolling the borders personally.
This has already been done. When do you think would be the right time for him to take a holiday? Or don't you think he should ever have a break? He does work 7 days a week
Same goes for whoever is PM, whichever party.
He has a wife and children. He and they deserve family time.
Absolutely, ummmm. He's sent some second-hand fencing and a couple of non-bitey dogs to France.
What more could he possibly be expected to do?
He's due a break.

///A few on here seem unaware of the Army of Civil Servants that actually run the Country 24/7/365 and even they take Holidays, but there is always someone at the Helm.
But don't let that get in the way of a bit of points scoring will you?///

'Fiction Factory'- he works 7 days a week does he, so what!! He put himself up for the job and if he can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen, he has told NHS staff they must work round the clock so why should he be any different? An odd day off now and then is ok, but when there is a major crisis he needs to be leading from the front not sat in a bleeding deck chair!!!
Err- 7 day a week working for the NHS doesn't mean everyone works 7 days every week!
If you can work effectively without any sort of holiday, good for you. Employers realise that staff need a life outside work occasionally and need holidays. The same applies to a PM of any party. But no doubt he'll be getting numerous email briefings, phone calls and interruptions

I wonder if the blinkered attitude would be the same if we had a Labour PM?
Everyone is entitled to an holiday. He will come back refreshed and a better man for it.

The country is not going to disintegrate because Cameron is in a wet suit in Cornwall.
Good on him........being PM is a temporary appointment, it doesn't last for long and you are at the whims of your party and the electorate. if i was PM, I would pick up all expenses, have a private jet to take me to meetings and on holiday and take the naive electorate fo every penny that they had to fund my time out of office ( a bit like Tony Blair).

As for the NHS workers.......jobs for life, no competition, almost impossible to be sacked and a ring fenced pension.

For God's sake Dave, don't go Easyjet and rent a villa, go by private Lear Jet and stay in a 5star+ hotel or the hideaway villa of some rich personality...e.g Mustique.

The migrants will still be there when you come back.

Fiction - I didn't say the NHS staff have been told to work 7 days a week, read it again, I said 'around the clock' and I did say that he should have the odd day off, this is a major crisis, an invasion, do you think that Winston booked a week in Butlins!!!
Baldric,
I expect it would. There was much sniping about Blair's soujourns to Chiantishire.

Sqad, just so long as it's There and not Here!!!
Technology has moved on.
LOL ^^^
I've read it again, saintpeter.
You said "he has told NHS staff they must work round the clock so why should he be any different? "
He has said the service must be available around the clock not that the senior NHS person should work around the clock. The cabinet and senior civil servants are still there around the clock and Cameron is no doubt 'on call'
The NHS must work round the clock works the same as the Government working round the closk. Not everyone will be there 100% of the time.

You have let the red mist cloud your judgment
How quickly this simple thread has descended into pedantry and bickering.

Is it any wonder that some AB Members are getting disillusioned ?
