His shop - his rules.
Question Author
Correct.
Wouldn't be accepted here.
We don't have this type of shop here. That is the problem
Daft as the huge majority of those who have committed mass murder by gun are not Muslim.
would you say the same if he had declared it a gay free zone?

it's discrimination
It is discrimination....and like Eddie says...it's not Muslims America needs to worry about. If he wants to discriminate in his own shop...so be it. Let him lose the profits.
I wonder how long , before he leaves to meet his maker
This is probably a very shrewd move. Nearly all the spree killers who commit massacres in the US are white.

He doesn't really want his shop cluttered up with people who are not his core customers.
Nice one, Gromit
He says - quote "“I have a moral and legal responsibility to ensure the safety of all patriots in my community..." which is admirable -

better stop selling guns to everyone then!!!
ichkeria - //We don't have this type of shop here. That is the problem //

Really ... I mean really????????
Really
Banning a certain customer of lethal weaponry would seem to be missing the point
And it is also rather scary that someone like this might own such a premises but that America for you

Your statement appears to bemoan the absence of gun shops in the UK - hence my response.

As far as thinking it scary that such a person would own a gun shop - I would think it more normal than scary.

What sort of mind set sells guns to civilians for a living? It's only a short step from arming anyone and everyone to deciding to be a religious bigot on top - both of them required fractured thinking from the outset.

As I often quote - Ben Elton said that sorting gun ownership is extremely simple - you ask an individual if they would like to own a gun, and if they say yes, they are automatically banned from ever owning a gun!
Andy the question is about the USA. I never mentioned the UK
ichkeria - you said - //We don't have this type of shop here. That is the problem //

What other interpretation of the word 'here' than this country is there?
/// “Our leaders are telling you that Islam is a peaceful religion full of tolerance and love and hope. ///

Where have we heard that before?
so America has got a gunshop run by a bigot.....no news there.
(Yawn: I'll stop trying to explain after this attempt before everyone else dies of boredom)
Dannyk remarked that such a ban would not happen here to which I replied that the problem (of shootings taking place so seemingly often)was related the presence of gunshops not the racial makeup of the people buying them

Correct me if i'm mistaken

This american obsession with the right to bear arms goes back to the pioneering days , when there was a real threat to life and property .

Unfortunately this right has been engrained into subsequent generations of americans .

Untill and if you can get rid of that way of thinking , then the problem will remain .
Of course it's not helped by organisations such as the NRA .
