There is not even a serious debate about the pies ....although there is a small amount of people campaigning to get Greggs to keep selling them

It was a light hearted question asked before they break up for the holidays
the old SS, PMSL!
Thanks Mamy for trying to point us in the right direction re. abbreviations however I still do not know what SS stands for. I think we should employ a permanent linguist on A/B until such times as some people learn to use the Queen's English.
We have a beautiful language but sometimes it's like knitting mud.
SS=Swaggering Sweaties, a common term these days.
Is it really?

It reminds me of when my friend and I made up a language, think we were 13/14 - mainly so the grown ups wouldn't understand us.
SS for Swaggering Sweaties may well be "a common term these days, but only if you're an example of the EE. That's the "Empty-headed English"
EHE surely?
I'll go with that, TTT, but when one uses a hyphenated word, only the opening letter is required. No point in making an acronym over-long, is there?
I have checked with my local Greggs, here in Swansea, about macaroni pies and I was greeted with complete mystification. Must be unknown south of the border !
There are a lot of delicacies that our SS cousins have mikey. No doubt greggs has incorporated local tastes. Surely you have a pork and leek sausage sarnie in your local greggs,
We do indeed TTT.

Greggs used to make a very tasty 3-cheeses baguette, but stopped earlier this year. Pity...very tasty !

A local baker here in my part of South Wales does some marvelous Welsh Pasties, with cheese, bacon and leek, which I wished were not as yummy as they are....I find myself being lured into the shop, every time I pass.

But I am still unclear what a "Macaroni Pie" is. Can Jordy, or any other of our north-of-the-Border AB correspondents enlighten me please ?

For crying out loud it's one of the six o'clock news headlines
I'm also baffled as to what a macaroni pie is.

I mean, evidently it's a pie ... containing macaroni ... but ...
