Like something from 1950s USA. In todays inclusive society it was a very strange trick to pull - the bouncers must've know there would be repercussions as this type of behaviour is very newsworthy.

But nightclubs have had the power to refuse entry to groups of males with absolutely no comeback. Had this happen to me several times when out even in a small group of 4 or 5. Is this wildly different from the scenario in the link?

//I there is one thing I despise more than a racist, it's a racist that says they are not a racist.//
To whom is that addressed ?
We all have a pretty good understanding of each other's views on here and nobody is a racist - covert or otherwise or they would soon get short shrift.
I still didn't hear the doorman say it in that video either, plenty of shouting "Is it coz we're black" while he was talking but nothing to back up Mr Orahs claim
Then you don't want to hear it, Panky.

Khandro...to whoever
No Talbot, I didn't hear it because it wasn't said.

All I can hear is a group of disgruntled men shouting out "Is it coz we're black" over a doorman talking to them.

Panky, from what I hear on the video there is only two possibilities.

A. The nightclub has a 'no blacks' policy
B. The doorman made it up because he is racist.
There can little doubt about the doorman said, otherwise the Club wouldn't have issued this statement ::::

The nightclub has since issued a statement apologising to Mr Orah and his friends, reiterating that they welcome people of all races and ethnicities.

A spokesperson for Ghost Nightclub said: “We sincerely and unreservedly apologise to all those involved, his friends and the citizens of Leicester.

“We feel strongly that the member of security who is suspended acted out of character and as a matter of urgency, all staff will be given refresher training of our policies and performance expectations.

No much doubt is there !

You said to Khandro "If I were you, I'd watch the video, and then form an opinion based on what you see".

Which apparently just what you did, seeing you wasn't there at the time, and of course your opinion couldn't be in the least bit bias could it?

You went to all the trouble of answering all those questions, by just stating "I have no idea" or "I don't know", so nothing definite there then.

Perhaps you have a more definite answer to this question then, since you have failed to address it yet, even after telling people to watch the video?

Didn't the doorman say this in the video?

"if it was my club I would have no problem with it"
AOG...our posts crossed....see my post above.
Seems pretty clear to me that the Club is distancing itself from the comments made by its racist employee.

Lets hope that the "refresher training" works.
^ gender discrimination as well (large groups of males etc )

i wonder if you would say that if it had been a UKIP statement?

But let's face it the club would say that wouldn't they?

It is much easier losing a ten a penny doorman, to paying out a huge fine plus a bad reputation for the club.
That's one of the main reasons why most security guards and doorstaff are contracted AOG^ liability covering etc

I now have, but can see nothing in it that addresses what the doorman said in the video,

if it was my club I would have no problem with it"

So you do accept that someone is guilty of racism, AOG?

/// So you do accept that someone is guilty of racism, AOG? ///

No I don't, on the scant and mixed evidence, a group of youths who happened to be black were refused entry to the night club for some reason.

Now if there was a total ban on blacks, and no blacks were inside then it would be racist.
Have you watched the video on the BBC link I posted?

/// Have you watched the video on the BBC link I posted? ///

There was no sound, for some strange reason.

Have you seen the transcript of the conversation?
PankySmooch

You are so right.

I've been black all my life, apart from a short period in 1978 when I became Mexican, due to misreading the instructions on a box of Omo washing powder.

Never once have I ever encountered anything that could be described as 'racism'.

It simply doesn't exist.

Nobody is racist.

Nobody is sexist.

Nobody hates gay people.

Unicorns exist and there's a unicorn farm near Winchester, just off the A312.
