So it wasn't because you have been an alcoholic for your entire career?

Always have been, always will be?

Nothing to do with that?

All down to that mean, nasty phone hacking person.

ridic isn't it?
Question Author
yup
Some people won't take responsibility for their own actions. It's always somebody else's fault. I suppose the drink just forced itself down his throat.
Hi JJ ... 'contributed' .. He's not saying it was the cause. He's a very anxious man with a lot of problems. It must have caused him a great deal of anxiety as it would anyone.

That Compo, £180k (give or take) will buy a lot of rehab,
or G & T.

Clearly that's what happened, bb.

And ...

Someone's hacked my phone. What should I do? I know, I'll have a beer. In fact, I'll have twelve. And a few whiskies. Oh, make it a bottle.
Why aye man.
Is that a livener, quick one or apero?
He's also had mental health problems, so I suppose that's his fault as well.

Okay, Elina, but ...

If you throw a ball out of a window, the passing breeze "contributes" to where it hits the ground.

But the fact is ... it was gonna hit the ground.

The ball may blame it on the breeze. But the ball was always heading for the ground.
I am no apologist for Paul and his self abuse, you had it right with the heading but thereafter you lost it JJ.

melv ...

Of course the mental health problems are not his fault (unless one subscribes to the view that a lifetime of alcohol abuse has a detrimental effect on one's mental health - which most of the medical profession probably do).

But it's not anyone else's fault either.

// you had it right with the heading but thereafter you lost it JJ //

Gaah, dammit! I hate it when that happens.
continuing your analogy, under your ball is a man with a fishing net. If there hadn't been a breeze, the ball might have fallen into the net and been safe but the breeze blew it sideways and it missed the net.......

I done think Paul Gascoyne volumes of alcohol could be described as a "quick one" shoota.
I can't do links at the moment, but it did cause major problems for him. Imagine yourself being hacked into & having your private life gone in to publicly. Who do you trust/ turn to?

But thats exactly what you are doing....

Hes made a nice easy £180K...nice work if you can get it

wish theyd hack my phone....

At least we know who'll be buying the drinks in when he celebrates this victory !
Of course it is his own fault but I think his 'friends' - especially
Jimmy 5 Bellies weren't real friends.
An addict will blame anyone else but himself/herself. It's the major part of being addicted to food, drugs, gambling etc.
JJ I think you will find that most of the medical profession would say that alcoholism IS a mental health problem.....unless of course you can show me a link that says different
