The British press are very quick to print anti-UKIP stories, so why apart from the Express, have they failed to print this one?

How can anyone know?

I am not sure anyone on here is privy to national newspaper editorial policy.
Perhaps it's because that these are the dog days of campaign, and each newspaper is now firmly aligned behind the party of their choice.

The Express is firmly UKIP, the Mail is firmly Tory, the Mirror is firmly Labour...

So in the day before the Election, each paper will be publishing stories to support their respective parties, rather than reports which might harm them.

Does that make sense?
^That sums it up.
Perhaps the thugs were scared of being "shot between the eyes", so decided to get in first.

No because it does not stop the other papers from taking a swipe at UKIP at every possible moment, they should equally condemn this kind of thuggery.

Now who else but you could come out with such a ridiculous and insensitive remark as that?
Are the express also running the story about Robert Bley?
well, ive seen some belters from you before :)
wow, "Kate Hudson's camel toe is IMPOSSIBLE to miss..."

anyway... perhaps other papers think there are more important stories around on D-Day minus 1? The Telegraph (online anyway) leads on Cameron hinting at a second coalition, the Guardian on campaign entering final straight (that one rather states the obvious), the Independent on post-election shambles looming... and so on.

I love you too AOG
well the lib dem bloke on the telly on Julia Derbyshire this morning said that it's ok to beat up people if they don't have the "correct" views so I imagine that is the view of the "correct" people here too.

I can think of a number of candidates for that particular 'award'!!
Because it is not an exiting story.

Man stops thugs vandalising his property - thugs attack man. sadly this is an everyday occurrence all over Britain. A black eye isn't really national newspaper material.

We do not know if the crime was politically motivated, and who the perpetrators were.
A bit more info in the local paper...

// Mark Smith, 49, who lives on Magna Road, said he heard some noise outside his home at around 11pm on Monday and found people attempting to pull the UKIP sign out of the ground in his driveway. When he confronted them, the perpetrators ran away but returned a short while later and assaulted Mr Smith.

Mark said: "I shouted at them, 'What the hell are you doing?' and they ran away, got into two cars and drove off.

He added: "I went inside and rang the police but I had a feeling that they would be back."

Mr Smith, who works as a yard manager, said he heard more noise outside and found the same group of people had returned to vandalise the sign.

"I really went for it. I was shouting at them and they were mouthing back in the heat of the moment.

"It was all a bit of a blur, but one person punched me and I fell to the ground. They were all kicking me and surrounding me.

"Eventually I was able to get up and ran back indoors to ring the police back. They ran off and got back into their cars."

Mr Smith says he has been left with a cut below his left eye and bruising to one arm, knee and leg. He believes that his attackers were in their twenties but did not get a clear look at their faces.

He added: "In life, I tend to stand up for myself. I don't like backing down. //

5 thugs.. A ukip supporter that can count up to 5.. Something sounds dodgy here
some think a more interesting story might be a Ukipper threatening to shoot a Tory, because it relates to a candidate (now hastily suspended) rather than a supporter

/// We do not know if the crime was politically motivated, ///

I think that is obviously established.

*** Several Ukip candidates and members have reported death threats on the campaign trail. ***

*** Last month a man allegedly threatened to behead David Robinson-Young, who is standing for the party in Newcastle East. ***

*** Robinson-Young described his conversation with Aftab Ahmed as "chilling". ***

*** Ahmed was granted bail and will go on trial in July. ***

And they say that UKIP are a fascist party. this type of thuggish behaviour is reminiscent of the Nazi party, and those that condone it are no better than them.
Well the thugs can rest easy, Bournemouth(Dorset) Police are only interested in persecuting motorists. They couldn't catch a cold let alone a real criminal. In other words as useles as Eamon Holmes' rowing machine.
AOG,
We know that some other UKIP candidates have been threatened and that is obviously politically motivated. But this man was not a candidate, and was a first the victim of vandalism. It is not at all obvious that this was an anti-UKIP act or just vandalism and generally thuggery.

The only people who stand to lose from UKIP getting votes in Bournemouth are the Conservatives. Labour and the LibDems are unlikely to get anywhere near the safe Conservative held seat.
Actually most of Magna Road is not in Bournemouth, only a very short stretch (few hundred yards) is.
