Ah well, I'm sure Allah is very proud of them and will reward them accordingly.
I am all for free speech but to hold a conference, about anti-Muslim cartoons was madness in the xtreme. America has enough of its own racist nutters, without encouraging more. Of course, the gunmen appear to be guilty of murder, but why was this conference allowed to be so provocative in the first place ?
Like you said, Mikey, freedom of speech.
Umm...well that freedom of speech has cost 2 lives, so what has been achieved ? This Conference was organised by the "American Freedom Defense Initiative" an extreme right-wing organisation, that has campaigned against the building of places of Muslim worship.

I wonder what everybody would say if a similar organisation campaigned against building Christian Churches in America ? I presume that they would complain like hell. The Conference also invited Geert Wilders, a racist Dutch politician, although what Holland has to do with Texas is anybodies guess.

So I hope that the AFDI is happy now that 2 people are dead...but what price the freedom of those two people's lives ?

There are some people in Britain that scare-monger, with ludicrous stories about the "take over" of Britain by Muslims, most principally the former Leader of the EDL, a Mr Tommy Robinson.

But America has a population of 308 million people....does anybody really think that a country with a population that size is in danger of being overwhelmed by Muslims ? Really ?

If these people had their way, they would be hanging Muslims up in the poplar trees, like a modern kind of Strange Fruit.
Mikey, //I am all for free speech...//

Apparently not.
America has got to realise that they can't give freedom to one group of people by taking it away from another group of people. The AFDI is a race-hate organisation...pure and simple, in exactly the same way as the KKK.

. Of course, the gunmen appear to be guilty of murder,

Thankfully not, they are the ones who are dead. They gave their lives for a cartoon...Idiots!
the two dead terrorists were perfectly free to not turn up at an event shooting guns
Precisely!
Mikey, If we can’t give freedom of speech to one group without taking it away from another, surely everyone must be allowed to speak as they will – regardless of who they are and of what they want to say?
Naomi...if you really believe that, I will look forward to you calling black people n*****s and c****s, and making fun of disable people, because you can always hide behind your "right to freedom of speech", can't you ?

It's the reactions of the offended that is the issue, mikey.

Can you not see that?
It may have had nothing to do with Islam...
Talbot, no he can’t.

Mikey, I would do none of those things, but freedom of speech according to you only extends to people with whom you agree. You said, quite rightly, //they can't give freedom to one group of people by taking it away from another group of people.//, so really you're contradicting yourself.

/// So I hope that the AFDI is happy now that 2 people are dead...but what price the freedom of those two people's lives ? ///

What would your response had been if these two gunmen had killed a number of people at that cartoon contest before being gunned down themselves?

Why are the left such as you mikey always prepared to support Islam yet are eager to criticise Christianity?

Prepared to support foreigners but are always eager to criticise their own people?
Like you said, Mikey, freedom of speech.

it was held because the authorities couldnt ban it I would have thought.

Drawing a gun and shooting it in Texas - is unwise. Will the coroner return a verdict of suicide
Good day for free speech with a couple of Islamist Nazi's sent to hell.

See the usual 'everybody else is a racist' hysteria has started early here.
Lol@ mikey. Always good for a laugh. Nice to see a happy ending to a story.
More importantly, did the organisers choose a winning cartoon?

I sent mine by post and haven't heard anything from them yet, Douglas ...still early days, fingers crossed eh!
