Edited from the Dault Telegraph:

// David Cameron has been heckled by a long-serving Tory member angered at the Government's failure to curb migration at the launch of the party's election launch.

In a rare breach of the slick presentation that characterises Conservative events, Mr Cameron was heckled by a party member of 35 years who was angered by the scant mention of Europe and immigration in the speech.

Mike Howson, 59, from Staffordshire Morelands, shouted that Mr Cameron had “betrayed the country” by failing to cut immigration.

It comes just days after Mr Cameron was booed, heckled and jeered by pensioners over the NHS at an Age UK rally. //

Tony (21:50).......I think its sunnier in Spain !

Although I find the concept that perhaps these Brits are moving abroad to avoid foreigners rather amusing.

One of my sister-in-laws, when to Spain 4 years ago, for the first time, but refused to leave the Hotel compound "because there were too many foreigners there "

When I not-to-gently suggested that perhaps she was the foreigner, she muttered something about that not being the point !

Priceless !

LOL, that could have easily been my mother, mikey.
Tony...if I poured myself a cold one at this time of night, I would wear out the 5 foot strip of carpet between the bed and the toilet in my caravan !
"Askyougran I am totally behind you on this one and the do gooders can call us racists until they are blue in their faces but when it comes to push and shove the immigrants are taking over and we need to stop it now "

all part of the big plan to destroy the white majority here with race displacement...the eussr love it

wonky...I think that your hard-earned taxes should continue to be spent on our own long-term unemployed, especially that ones with the "bad backs"

wonkybit
tonyav Huh that is nothing. My app on my phone tells me that I walk at least 3.7 miles every day

Well wonky, you pour yourself a cold one and put your feet up as well.
Mikey, //…he admitted that the NHS and care sector would need 10,000's more staff in the next few years.//

Why?

//…even if Blair "opened this can worms" which I reject...//

Why do you reject it when Tony Blair himself confirms it?

Naomi...the answer to your first question is that Britain, like most Western countries, has an ageing population, and although people will live longer, they will live longer with much poorer health. To be frank, people died not so very long ago, before they could develop illnesses that caused morbidity issues.

Diabetes is only one such problem. My GP, a local expert on diabetes, reckons that this disease is under-reported and under-diagnosed now, let alone in the next 30-40-50 years time.

Who is going to wipe your bottom in 30-40-50 years time ?
Mikey, not good enough. The NHS needs more staff not because of an ageing population, but because there are increasingly more people to care for. Get your head out of the sand!
It's pub psychology to say we can change the world. It's other people's choices.
Sharp tongue in fine fettle tonight naomi !

Its just common sense, and something that health professionals realise....even Tory Ministers agree that the increasing morbidity issue is important !

Thank God you are not responsible for forward health planning Naomi !
Mikey, If I were you'd see a lot of changes - and for the better! People who have worked and paid into the system for years might even be able to get an early appointment with their GP!!
And how would you go about working your miracle N?
Zacs, I'd acknowledge reality for a start.
So you're denying that advances in medicine which now cure previously fatal conditions in the elderly are not a contributory factor in the current strain the NHS is under?
Cameron is hamstrung because he is playing by EU rules. He has promised us a referendum and, provided the population vote sensibly, he will have much more freedom.
Why don't you ask your GP next time you seem him/her, as he/her is now paid over a £100,000 per annum, why you have to wait so long for an early appointment ?

This is precisely what I did last month. My Practise used to have 3 Doctors, but for the last 2 years, has only had 2, since the 65 year old senior partner retired.

He told me that the practise has advertised for a replacement, but can only get locum cover.

He went on to admit that locums were probably earning more than he was !

( could I have perhaps stumbled upon the mysterious cause of his failure to attract a third partner ? )

And all this has happened during a period of Tory rule !

NHS safe in Tory hands ? Now where have I heard that phrase before ?

No, don't help me...it will come to me eventually !
Zacs...don't confuse Naomi with logic and rational....it will only confuse her !

( not just you with a sharp tongue tonight ! )
