I'd rather the British captured him.... I think, although it's true UK security services didn't do anything much about him before. The Syrians would be more likely to take him out and shoot him, but since that's undoubtedly what he wants, I'd much rather he saw out his remaining years in a British prison.

who said anything about the quality? I think I've explained twice that in this case I would prefer it if he was not put through our due process. The reason for that is that I do not want to watch 10years of SOJ whinning along with the Islington set about human rights and extradition wranglings based on whether the US/Jordan/Japan promises not to top him. You should not assume that this stance is the same in every possible case, I'm talking about this case only. It's really quite simple to grasp.

The Syrians might want to torture him for the latest intel on ISIS positions, then try him for the beheading of one of their troops, which he carried out personally and the Jordanians might want to do to him what they did to their pilot (after a trial and not specifically for what was done to the pilot).

I don't really care what he wants. I prefer it if he was dead, and whether that's by drone strike, execution by the Syrians or whatever doesn't bother me one way or the other. If he also wants to die, so much the better.

If he does end up in prison, I don't want it to be here where we'd have to pay for him to live out his days in relative comfort.

Having first got the Rules of Engagement card out of Battledress top pocket first and read it to Bin Laden first.
The point I was making was that I don't think he was shot out of hand.
The sneaky beakies probably briefed the seals pre op to bring him back alive if possible for future potential Intel unless....... we know the rest. No tax payer paying for his legal aid.
