How is the civilised world going to adress this ever growing problem?
No doubt the "Friends Of Jihad" - will be along in a mo to tell us that they are marvellous chaps who are just a little misunderstood...

Yes Gromit, there certainly seems to be a change. As far as the Iranians are concerned I suspect it is pretty selfish. They want to be the muslim rulers in the region and want acceptance of Nuclear power.

With oil though it is impossible to say you are a net importer or exporter. Crude varies in what it is good for so whilst you may be fine for 'Gasoline' you may not be so good for your kerosine or whatever. The West is becoming less dependable on oil but the east is ramping up so prices will rise again shortly.

YMB
Ramping up will lead to further over supply making the oil price fall even further. Which is deliberate.

The US Fracking Companies need to make $80 a barrel. By driving down the price to $50-$55 a barrel, the US Fracking becomes uneconomical and the Companies go bankrupt. Saudi can afford to take a $25 hit on a barrel indefinitely. The US Frackers can't.

The US has embraced Fracking because it ends their dependence on middle east oil which it has to fight expensive wars to maintain supply. That makes Saudi much weaker, hence they have started an oil war.

The US would not have welcomed Iran to fight side by side with it against IS, if the US still needed Saudi oil.

"A war again IS is different. IS are expansionists who are trying to steal land and establish a State. From that State they will attack us. Stopping them, foiling their attempt at Statehood is a real cause with real rewards, if we are successful. " - yes I agree as as have said many times on here.

Gromit I notice that you have chosen to ignore my posts of 12:32/39 proving you wrong with your earlier accusation that I never said what I said.

No apology necessary but I would appreciate an aknowledgment that your earlier assertion is wrong.

The silence is deafening Gromit.

still nothing from gromit, I aways thought you had some honour, clearly I was mistaken.
