Retrochic,
Aw $h!te, I forgot! Silly me......
Old-Geezer - why can't people just type what they mean instead of all this acronym rubbish
There is no information (quelle suprise) as to whether Mr Dennis was given any assistance on leaving the Army 14 years ago.....

It is a shame that he was evicted from his last residence (again, no details given other than it occured after he had lost his job) but it appears that he was offered, and declined, the option of applying for supported housing.

I thought AnswerBank, in general, didn't approve of people 'running to the papers' with their grievances?
Well thankfully OG, UKIP see fit to prioritise those who just happen to 'have done their bit'. C'est la vie.
Around here, priority appears to be given to single mums, smackheads or anyone whose surname ends in C or Z.
And the rest of us haven't done our bit ?
Dave -what in your eyes is the difference between 'dregs of society' and 'vulnerable people that need to be helped as we are supposed to be a compassionate society' ?
No OG you haven't, no get out there and do your bit!
I must admit it does annoy me when a well known local 'family -read single mum on incapacity benefit with 5 children, boyfriend who does odd jobs for cash - runs around in a new 4x4 provided by Mobility when OH and I work between us in excess of 100 hours a week and both our vehicles are over 9 years old.
Are you ex-forces, retrochic?
And the rest of us haven't done our bit ?
--------------------
If you've not taken the Oath of Allegiance and served 'with the Colours' then I guess not!
Someone has to be at or near the top in the pecking order, UKIP just happen to make it policy for ex Servicemen. I heard once the Tories mooted the idea but heard nothing further(anyone enlighten me?).
As for Labour, I need say nothing.......
The suggestion that those of us who work for the benefit of society haven't "done their bit" is untrue. One should not distinguish between military service and other occupations. To do so is blatant discrimination.
as regular readers will know: WAP=What A Plonker, WSS= work shy scum
OG, I get you point and sort of agree with you.

However I would make the distinction between those just leaving the forces and those that left a while back. If you are just leaving and trying to find your feet then I think a little help is good.

Labour much prefer the assist the WSS. They are certainly not the party for the 'working' man !
The asylum seekers were probably family groups. I think it's common practise to house families, native or foreign, in B&B accommodation.
So does that tell me that, them that has paid Nothing into the System have Priority Sandy?
Mr Dennis is currently staying in a B&B paid for by HfH, according to the article.

Why isn't he being viewed as an unemployed layabout, I wonder......given that he's obviously fit and healthy?
No Jobs in Bournemouth, like Blackpool, only tourist Industry.
Your place on a housing waiting list doesn't depend on what you've contributed in the past. It depends on your needs.
The Ex Serviceman was in need I would say, after all, he did fight & done his duty.
