Flipping heck ! If this true, I'm not sure if I will buy chicken from a supermarket again. I only buy free-range but I am unsure if even these are safe now.

One of my frenz ate rate mini chicken kievs thinking they were canapes
and survived.... for a few days. [ actually got obvious salmonella but nothing dropped off int he long term ]
When you do a food hygiene course the first thing you are told it that all poultry has to be treated as infected.
PP maybe you should educate your "frenz" as to food hygene :-)

Apparently as long as you consume enough alcohol with your food, it will kill off any bugs in the meat.

I have probably just made that up.

However, I've never been sick...so...
