Why after two years of police investigations has no one been named, stood trial and imprisoned?

Surely there is no need for an inquiry, why can't the usual procedures take place, i.e. police investigate, make an arrest, put before the CPS and then if there is a case sent for trail?

There doesn't have to be an inquiry when less prominent people are involved.

The powers that be are obviously hoping we'll all just forget about it if they stall the inquiries for long enough. No chance !

I am tending to agree with your here AOG. If we wait until the Great and Good have managed to get their act together and finish with this Enquiry, some of the guilty may very well be dead. Some of them already are.
Of course, the Tory MP/MPs may have already been interviewed by the Police but those investigations may have been stifled by MI5 again, as has happened in the past.

The goings on at the Elm Guest House first came to light many years ago and were "investigated" but yet again, I smell the dead hand of the Establishment in all this. Maybe we need another Labour MP to stand up in the Commons and name some names under Parliamentary privilege again, to kick start some new investigations. Something has to get past the logjam.
If there are cover-ups and conspiracies involved then it will take time for them to be revealed. Cases involving Joe Public are likely to be more straightforward in comparison.
