I think Cameron made a good point when he said that the yes voters are treating this like a general election! No you can't change it in 5 years! You're stuck with it!

Orbiter, gawd knows what you are actually orbiting at the moment but if the TGL is not a proper Tory perhaps you could give us an example of one!
Obiter...I am not entirely sure who TGL is but I suspect that its the same person as TBM, or Lady Voldemort as she is known in Wales. If she wasn't a "proper" Tory, god only knows who was ! Don't bears poo in the woods anymore ?
Mikey, your tax position used to be based on the number of windows your house had, for Pete's sake! Couldn't we update and transfer that so that the number of points you scored on an IQ test would be considered before you were allowed to vote? After all, we have driving tests, don't we?
(In case anyone thinks I'm being serious, I'm not!)
I agree QM ! But democracy is a double edged sword.

I have had a look at the latest Polls and the YES camp no longer seem to be ahead, and the "surge" of last week seems to have dissolved somewhat. So the UK could still be saved.
If they vote yes, and go into financial meltdown, who will they blame?

Oh, the English of course.
If the pointy heads in the SNP don't even know what currency they will be using after they break away, I doubt that they have even thought far enough ahead to take into account any financial meltdown. My best guess on this is that they will run to the International Monetary Fund in panic.

Another aspect of all this is if they vote to go, Scotland will cease being a Member of the EEC. Scotland, Wales and other parts of the UK have done very well out of EEC money in recent years, and that tap will be firmly turned off for Mr Salmond. So the IMF is their only choice.

this is all so one man can crown himself king and saviour and moon the English. The sufferring of the main Scottish public will not be a consideration.
Slovakia broke away from Czechoslovakia 20 years ago and it doesn't seem to have done them any harm.
TTT that is exactly what i said to my wife last night
about salmond being king!

Q How do you disarm an atomic bomb?
A Go into your polling station on 18th September and put a cross in the YES box.

Actually the name is Obiter, there is a difference.

To answer your question, Harold Macmillan; went grouse shooting in the season and read Homer's Iliad and Odyssey in the original Greek for relxaation.a

HM was an amateur, compared to TLG, I think even my marxists colleagues would agree.
I'll tell you when the rot set into the Tory party; it was when they chose the odious Heath as leader.
Question Author
Heath was not a Tory, he was what is known as a "wet" - basically a Liberal that managed to get into the Tory party, for what it's worth he is considered a traitor these days.
Agree, Tora, also a promiscuous homosexual in his earlier days; was told by the powers that be to stop visiting public toilets or his political career would be at risk. Nothing new there, then, given the recent sex scandals.
//Q How do you disarm an atomic bomb?

that's good reason enough :-)
Since when did "disarm" mean "relinquish control to a foreign power"?

Pre-election: Scotland has atomic weapons
Post-Yes: The atomic weapons are moved (at great cost) to the continuing UK of which Scotland is no longer a part
Question Author
ellipsis, you are looking for logic, stop it!
Surely even the English wouldn't be daft enough to use nuclear weapons against Scotland if the latter became independent, would they? Consequently - even if Scotland currently had control - if it "relinquish(ed) control to a foreign power", it's to a foreign power who could do no harm with them. Not quite the same as handing them to ISIL, North Korea or whoever and, thus, perfectly logical.
