1. Does QE2 become QE2 of Scotland?
2. Does Scotland become a Republic within the Commonwealth of which she is the Queen Bee?
3. Does Scotland invite the Pretender to the throne, coming down the Stuart lineage, ending up with the Duke of Bavaria, one King Francis 2.

Are some of the Scots being hoodwinked by the Scottish Nazi Party as Salmond et al, well a lot of them, are Republicans and want no monarch, as they want no nuclear capability and also out of NATO as it's highly unlikely that they will commit to the 2% of GNP to be spent on NATO defence pre-requisite, given all the rest that theyy have to pay for, not withstanding £1.2 trillion of debt?

As I understand it, the Scottish people can't decide if the Queen is to be their Head of State over any other, as nobody has a say in the succession. The Head of State for us all is already decided way into the future, by the rules of succession...Charles, William, baby George, etc. ( barring any minibus crashes, of course )

They can, however, decide that they don't want to be a monarchy and wish to be a Republic instead. They could, of course, decide to vote for Liz to be their President, if she were to stand for the job.

For the record, although I am a firm believer in a Republic, if Liz were to stand in the UK as President, she could be assured of my vote ! I have very respect for her, but not the institution of an unelected Monarchy.
Ah, another Scotland bashing thread pmsl
This matter was decided on the accession of Edward VII in 1901. The higher regnal number would prevail. Thus, if we ever have another King James he will be styled James VIII (assuming that Scotland remains within the UK).
"Liz"!

You would not have dared be so disrespectful 400 years ago.
randymarsh - if you look on the 'I love Yorkshire' site, you will find that very many northerners would love to go with Scotland if it splits - we have nothing in common with London. Seriously, there is a very strong movement for regional status for Yorkshire. It is in its infancy, but is there.

Not really, steg, there are some very pertinent questions to be answered here and the SNP aren't exactly playing ball on covering these answers....often, it's thoughts planned on the 'back of cigarette packs.'
Where I come from Yorkshire is very much south!
I use Liz in an affectionate way obitor. Now Betty, that would be entirely different !

As I said, I respect the woman but not the role, and that is my right I think ?
jourdain2...Yorkshire men wanting to live anywhere other than Yorkshire ?
Now that I can't possibly believe ! ::::

That's just your opinion dt,the important opinion is the one that has the vote and they seem to be disagreeing with you
Question Author
Interesting, steg, you presume that you know which way I would vote. That's presumptuous.

Also, on that said poll, there was another which showed no movement in the respective numbers. As to the said poll, what was the percentage of 'not decided or not telling you' folk that were canvassed? Anyone know that?
The Bookies still expect that the NO camp will win, and there is a strange lack of penniless Bookies either side of the Border !
Never mentioned or even thought what way you would vote dt as it is irrelevant
47% yes 45%no
Question Author
One poll does not make an election or a referendum result though, I come back to how many folk were not counted in the split on this one - that could be extremely significant. Personally, I would tell a pollster which Leith pier to jump off.
Question Author
thanks for that, so 8% up for grabs.......mmmmmmmm
That's cause most have closed down mikey well round here any way
