Seems to me that this woman should first be demonstrating against her religion before getting NATO involved?

/// "I live in Kabul because it is my country and we have to be there. It is risky and uncertain, especially with the new government and international troops withdrawing. ///

/// "But there are so many capable women ready to take the important decisions needed to shape our country's future." ///

Perhaps she could make a start by joining the Afghan Army?

I think Nato did their best to help the Afghan people to escape the tyrrany of muslim extremists. Now they have to escape the tyrrany of their own warlords and politicians.
Milkey???
Gender should not be relevant. Getting the best decisions should be. And since it is military matters being discussed one would expect those there to be high ranking members of political and military arenas. Is that not the case ?
Non story I think, given more publicity than warranted.
I've just realised, isn't this woman the winner of...
'Miss Extreme Irony 2014'?
.

anyone remember Mrs Pandit ?
The only wiki ref is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_families_of_India

she used to visit from Indian in the fifties ( yup ten years after uhuru ) and tell the British Govt what a lousy job they were doing over Indian Independence.
Excuse me - that was weird
and HMG used to poitely tell her that Indian Affairs were not now theirs .....

This is a replay 60 y later
OG, I don’t think it’s a non-story, and AOG is right. Governments will come and go, but until the fundamental problem of the misogynistic culture that Islam promotes is addressed, nothing will change for women.

Sorry as regards the typo.
Female representation in NATO has nothing to do with Islam.
Jumping on a bandwagon to try to make unrelated points does seem like something to ignore to me.
Oh, I thought the Milky Bar Kid was taking an interest (or failing to).
OG, In the case of women from Afghanistan their notable absence on the world stage has everything to do with Islam. Education for them isn’t freely available, and that shouldn't be ignored.
Hey old Geezer do you remember the Milky Bar kid was 'done' 15 y later for a porno movie ( yeah that long time ago) - taken I seem to remember in the chem lab of his old skool with the now aged care taker ?

if we look on U tube ? .....

NO I think this milkey is as pure as .... as pure as the driven snow
Naomi I think the point a lot of the men are making is,
it is an internal change that cant be imposed by invading forces that have left.
It has to come from the Afghan govt over which we have little (no) control

So it isnt the idea we are carping at ( women eductation v good )
it is the context in which she is doing it

( yeah yeah I know that analysis is gonna be called really weird)
Peter, not weird at all. Accurate. Change can only come from within.
Milky here ! I am not sure what you want me to say about this AOG. Just because I don't make continual racist remarks, doesn't mean that I don't condemn all religions that exercise the kind of uneducated behaviors that Islam is won to do. Handsome is as handsome does as far as I am concerned.

For the record, Naomi has said it all...Islam is basically a deeply misogynistic religion.
Milky is that really you in piccy 4 ? dry now I hope ?
was it asses' milk ?

you dont look bad in the flesh
Thanks PP !

Actually the Milky Bar adverts were amongst my favourites as a boy, which is funny really as we weren't really a ITV sort of family ! Didn't Dennis Waterman play one once ?

What has making continual racist remarks got to do with it, who are you accusing, or do you think that anyone who dares to makes a valid derogative remark about anyone from another race, is automatically a racist in your mind?

"uneducated behaviors" we can all make typos it seems.

"who are you accusing,"
In this instance Id say you AOG, but he hasnt got the nerve to say it outright.

// Just because I don't make continual racist remarks, //

hold it - did I read that right ?
