Well it doesn't me, but one cannot blame these people, who wouldn't strive for a better life?

One has to blame the EU for it's open borders policy and our politicians for all the benefits bestowed on these immigrants when they arrive here.

If the mail thinks we have a problem with people claiming benefits ( which we have ) then we need to look at this problem as a whole and not concentrate on immigrants as though stopping their benefits payments will solve the problem .

And before you say so - no i'm not defending people who come here with no intention of actively seeking employment

Bazile, yes we do need to concentrate on the problem as a whole, but that’s no reason not to expose people who are taking full advantage of the system. Here’s another mother of 11 who needs a swift kick up the backside – not an immigrant - and she was also the subject of a documentary.

There has been a slew of these documentaries recently (Skint and Benefit Street spring to mind) and the one thing they have in common is that they feature people who literally see nothing wrong in living off the state.

The problem we now face is turning a whole generation around...to make living on benefits something that you shouldn't aspire to.

There are, of course, hundreds of thousands of benefit claimants who are desperate for work, but the system is being milked by those who cannot possibly get a job which would pay the equivalent that they are currently getting through the dole, housing benefit, etc etc.

Personally, I've always lived in fear of unemployment. When I was at school, the jobless figures were horrific, and I remember thinking how embarrassed I would feel to have friends in work, whilst I was on the dole. One has to wonder whether that embarrassment is now a thing of the past.

sp, indeed - so what's so wrong with the OP? Blaming an open borders policy and governments that are willing to bestow such very generous benefits upon newcomers seems fairly accurate to me.
