I agree with that SIQ, i rang the surgery yesterday to see what I needed to do and when the deadline was, the receptionist said put it in writing but didn't know anything about any deadline and couldn't answer any questions about any of it, when I handed my written request in earlier, the receptionist looked rather blank and I had to ensure she'd act on it, I'm not confident so will be ringing a relative that works in the surgery to make sure it gets done.
I'm afraid I have little faith in my surgery either, Rocky....I have photocopied the form I signed but that won't prove I delivered it.

The information I picked up at my surgery says every household will be sent a leaflet of explanation in January...well I certainly didn't get one.
I never got one either gness. I wonder if they actually sent any out.
Be interesting to hear from someone who received one...☺
Indeed.

Anyone out there get one?..........
I got one. Just heard on the news it has been delayed 6 months.
it has been put back, there is opposition from GP's, and i suspect once you know that your medical records can be bought and viewed by anyone, then you will likely opt out. Private should mean that, not viewed by half the world
i've had two leaflets and an email from my surgery.
what you have to worry about is if your physical, mental health records can be sold on, perhaps that info can also be accessed by prospective employers, who would have no compunction in ruling you out if it shows up you have had some problems, or insurance companies ruling you out of getting cover
i don;t like this one little bit. Different if its just NHS, but it won't be.
So...some received a leaflet....some didn't....delayed by six months by which time the requests we have made, Rocky will be lost.

Another cock up?
In a nutshell, Em....x
is this happening in Scotland ?
i said this on another thread about the same subject a while back and was pooh poohed by some, but medical records should not be accessible by those who can use it to either target you with more bloody junk mail, or by
businesses.
i thought it was countrywide, but i am not 100percent
Too late for me..my hospital records went missing about 15 months ago, after my second or third visit to my haematology clinic:-(

Hospitals and surgeries have got bigger and bigger, but their efficiency and has sadly, dramatically declined.
losing your records is unforgivable, but this isn't about losing records but selling them on.
I realise that Em, and I think selling them is dreadful. Just highlighting the fact that you can't trust them with your records NOW, let alone when they let Tom, Dick and Harry have access.
I don't see what interest my records would be, having queried some information on mine with the receptionist there are so many mistakes I'm sure they've confused me with someone else.........
^ me probably Crafty.
i totally understand, losing them seems so absurd, but i bet you are not alone.
