Apparently, in hebrew it means Prince.

Nāśī’ (נָשִׂיא) is a Hebrew title meaning prince, in Biblical Hebrew, Prince (of the Sanhedrin) in Mishnaic Hebrew, or president, in Modern Hebrew. In Biblical times the title of nasi was given to the political ruler of Judea - eg. Lev 4:22; Ezek 44:2-18; Ezra 1:8 (comp. Yer. Hor. 3:2).
So what would the word Nazi be replaced by?

"The very nice and friendly German party that loves everyone" perhaps?
Well done DTCwordfan. I don't think anyone else spotted it was Giles' Grandma on my avatar. No one else commented on it. Giles, sadly missed.
true about the loss, Gromit, he made the Sunday Express almost bearable, that and their GK crossword (my great uncle was one of their compilers).

I love the 'Heil Nick Griffin' with the umbrella....
No you cannot, ban the word and you hide it and one thing you never want is a Nazi hidden
If they ban it here, we'll all have to go back to saying we fought the second world war against Germany instead of the more politically correct and EU friendly 'the nazis'.

Why would they, unless of course that there was something seriously wrong with your avatar, like the Union Jack being upside down?

For the benefit of all our new comers:

An AnswerBank News Section in joke,
Sandy has a valid point, I've long thought that the Israelis learnt a lot from their experiences in WW2. It isn't difficult to draw a comparison between their treatment of the Palestinians and the way the Jews were treated by the Nazis.
Israel is a Nazi state dominated by religious extremists who think they are a super race (god's chosen people), not that different.

/// National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP), commonly known as the Nazi Party. ///

Blimey were the Nazis actually Socialists, doesn't our nation also have a Socialist Workers Party.
Hope Grandma Giles isn't to be taken as a symbol of Nazi thoughts; the memorial to the cartoonist, who came from Ipswich, is in the form of a statue of Grandma . It's near the Town Hall.

Israelis, like Germans, find the word, the symbolism, and the topic , sensitive. We don't so find . Nearest we got was the banning of uniforms, pursuant to Mosley's activities.

/// It isn't difficult to draw a comparison between their treatment of the Palestinians and the way the Jews were treated by the Nazis. ///

I would think that it is very difficult, seeing that the Israelis do not have Death Camps and have not systematically slaughtered millions of Palestinians.
"Have we got a list of banned words?"

Yes, it's unpublishable though.

/// Israelis, like Germans, find the word, the symbolism, and the topic , sensitive. We don't so find. ///

But we do find other certain words to be both symbolic and sensitive, so what is different?
We have not got a list of banned words, beyond that maintained by sites such as this, AOG. You may think that the N word is banned or illegal, but it isn't. Can you describe, in delicate terms, one which you think is?

Offensive behaviour of the type of which we used to say "a breach of the peace was likely to be occasioned" is illegal, and that includes words. That has been so since the Justices of the Peace Act in the C14, at least. Modern legislation has refined this principle.
Giles was in the war, as a correspondent (blind in one eye so couldn't fight) and was present at the liberation of Belsen death camp, whose commandant turned out to be a fan and swapped him a Walther gun for an original drawing. He loathed totalitarianism, though.

This is the first drawing of Granny:

You do surprise me, try shouting it out and I think it wouldn't be long before you were arrested.
AOG, I can shout it as much as like and with impunity, so long as I don't do it with the intent or foreseeable consequence that the law forbids.

Which country are you living in? I do wonder whether we are both in the same jurisdiction. Is yours a fictional creation for Daily Mail readers?

/// AOG, I can shout it as much as like and with impunity, so long as I don't do it with the intent or foreseeable consequence that the law forbids. ///

So it is unlawful then since one breaks the law in one way or other by shouting it out in a certain way?

/// Which country are you living in? I do wonder whether we are both in the same jurisdiction. Is yours a fictional creation for Daily Mail readers? ///

Oh give it a rest you make yourself sound so ridiculous, so much so that I do wonder about your supposed qualifications.

no, it shouldn't be remembered for all eternity
that was another typo, my mistake - tiredness is my excuse, that should of course say

no, the word Nazi should remain, can't see banning or dispensing with it will make it go away, and there is no way to expunge it from tv, books, films, so leave it be
