250 Cats!

Did anyone see the Animal Patrol programme on the TV last night? A man took in a pregnant cat, not realising they breed quite rapidly - when the US Pet Patrol people went into the house, they removed 250 moggies! Sadly, they had to be put down - they weren't well, and most were feral, and they never went outside. It was quite an eye-opener!

Actually, he wasn't - it was viewed that he'd done it with the best of intentions, and it just got out of hand.

The person who was taken to court was the woman who beat her dog with a burning stick (yes, really) then failed to get treatment for the burn on his head. Appalling.

I've seen similar on the US animal programmes on Animal Planet. Its very sad as many of these cats can't be rehomed for one reason or another.

Not quite the same league , my step daughter's mother got herself a pregnant cat as a get rich quick scheme that backfired. She wanted to sell kittens, unfortunately we are overrun with cats and you can't give them away. She now has 14 cats and they could all be breeding again now. They are never taken to the vets and left to run the house. I feel so bad for the poor things.
