Does anyone know why this inquest is not going to start until January 6th next year, nearly 2 years after he was found hanged in February 2012
( there is a misprint in the BBC News link above)

Why such a long wait ?

Also, can anyone remember listening to an interview done with his twin brother Darren on the PM Program, I think by Eddie Mair ? It was quite the most harrowing interview I have ever heard. I have been trying to find it again on the iplayer or youtube but without luck.

Ah...silly me. I have done and still no joy.
Not sure what an inquest which actually show us.

He was shot by a piece of scum and subsequently it trashed his life. Extremely sad, but no surprise.
Agree with ymb,
It does seem like a bit of a pointless exercise. Don"t need to be Dr Quincey to work it out. Unless there is some reason due to his pension or Life Assurance which may affect his widow and what hse receives, It does seem like a futile gesture.

I have always understood that any death like this usually has an inquest. My question was why it has taken so long to come to fruition. Also its only September and yet the inquest is due to start in 4 months time !

This can only add to the stress and worry for this poor man's family.
