I'd rather he were buried in Westminster Abbey.

Do we know if he was buried in Leicester reverently by his supporters or was he dumped their by his murderers?
Polydore Vergil, Henry Tudor's official historian, recorded that "King Richard, alone, was killed fighting manfully in the thickest press of his enemies". Richard's naked body was then exposed, possibly in the collegiate foundation of the Annunciation of Our Lady, before being buried at Greyfriars Church in Leicester.
//If the Yorkies wanted his bones, why didn’t they spend their time and money trying to find them? //..... Because Leicester lost them in the first place and now that they have been found York want them returned so they can be looked after properly.
Do we know if he was buried in Leicester reverently by his supporters or was he dumped their by his murderers?

We will find out - tune in Sunday evening BBC1 at 9pm
I've already told you above. Sorry if it spoils the programme.
York. Can't think he'd want to be buried near Bosworth Field. It would bring back bad memories.
What, like the memory of the last 520 years of being buried near it?!
I think it's safe to assume he has no memories since some heavy metal weapon sliced off a portion of his bonce.
You don't say, Zacs ! But he has gone to Heaven, surely. Don't we have memories in the afterlife ? Bet we have memories in Hell as well.
I do hope so, Fred.
Personally, I think you go to whichever and you get a small plastic disc which you can slot into a machine which you can then watch your whole life in real time, to let you asses whether you're in the right place or not. You can also get 'discs' of other peoples lives which will let you see their opinion of you, so you've no need of memories.

well, you did ask.
Plenty of Richards buried in my back garden thanks to my Boxer!
some of the news stories (not the BBC's) say Richard's descendants have won a judicial review, as do some of the posters here. As far as I know he had no descendants. Does anyone know otherwise?
he's got at least one relative, the bloke whose DNA was used to identify the bones. Zac's master I may be being thick but I am still not sure from your comment whether he was buried by friends or enemies?
relatives, but descendants of his mum rather than Richard himself (I think). Real descendants might be entitled to a say in where he's buried, but I don't know that 15th cousins twice removed should have.
I'm in York and I think we're showing ourselves up a bit here.
He should stay in Leicester
well but jno, isn't that what the judicial review is going to decide?
yep. Just giving my ruling first.
Woof, my answer clarified the dumped / ceremony bit of your question. Maybe you could, like I did, do a bit of research to find out the remaining bit.
As an anointed King Of England, I am not sure why he isn't being buried at Westminster, or perhaps Winchester ?
