On Sky news, we have just watched the headmistress of Bucklebury Primary School tell all her pupils that the new royal baby will grow up to be the King of England. She repeated it again in an interview. How can she be so ignorant? What about the Welsh, the Scots, the Northern Irish? He will be their king too. It's enough to make me vote YES in next years referendum.

She should be Elizabeth I but it has been said that for future monarchs (although they cannot be bound by the agreement) where Scotland and England have had monarchs of the same name, the higher regnal number will be used. This means if the wee one is named James, he will be James VIII.
but perhaps they could give him the middle names The Third, just to appease the English.
Primary School head teachers are usually pretty thick. Lost many a quiz due to some bad call from one.
^^^ ouch. lol
jno - read this in an accent like Fraser in Dad's Army -'Rrrubbish' :-)
Also, there is a difference in saying King of England but not King of Canada for example. The Queen is monarch of other countries and the law of succession follows ours but that is because of each country's laws so it just happens that the wee one is due to be King of Canada. We do not live in Canada so there would be no reason to mention Canada since the Canadian monarch is in theory a sepatate entity who happens to be the UK's monarch.
all the more reason to proclaim his (forthcoming) achievements, including the kingship of Tuvalu and the Cambridge degree.
Maybe when they let Stuart Hall out of prison, the new infant could Captain a future team on "It's a Knockout".
he will be the king of England ! and wales ,Scotland and ulster! what's wrong with putting england first for once, as he is English!
not to mention that a relative is a Head of a primary school, and isn't thick
She's actually queen of United kingdom and her other realms and territories
When (if) he becomes king, it may well just be England.
not so as i already pointed out Alex Salmond said he wishes to keep the monarchy. good of him don't you think
King Kevin of the Falklands too....we have to keep Slappie happy.
Very generous of him, particularly as he wants the title King himself - or Generalpissimo, or Fuehrer.
Charles is 64, say another 20 years left including any of his reign
William is 31, say 51 when on throne, add 30 years reign
So in 50 years time, where will Alex Salmond be?!
long gone one hopes
The Wee Haggis will still be stirring it from his glass coffin in the Palace of Scone....
its said over and over again,,,,,,,,,,ive seen it on AB quite often, hey ho :)
