Well it is 30 degrees in Warrington today !
Sensible move, drivers would be complaining if they didn't do something.
its as hot here i'm sure, and probably a lot more bodies on the deck making it warmer still

So what are they doing - ironing the tarmac ?
Don't let them complain they don't have any grit come January......
gritting lorries had to be sent out to spread crushed rock dust on melting tar to create non-stick road surfaces after roads melted in parts of England.
Still seems sensible to me, perhaps I am missing something.
It's needed. Tarmac is sticky, salt isn't.
I think it makes great sense, mamya - this is like the days of my childhood, when we used to pop the tamac bubbles with our sandals as we walked home from school.
Loved doing that but not getting my legs scrubbed with Vim later lol
