What other reason could there be to play a sectarian tune outside a Catholic Church ?

It's always Protestant bands playing outside Catholic premises. What possible reason could they have for doing this, other than trying to keep the struggle going, against the wishes of the vast majority of the population?

Pity he didn't live in one of the contentious areas. He'd soon change his views.
What an ill informed twonk!!
Bit like the EDL or a sympathiser letting a bomb off in Tipton as to a Mosque...? What's the difference? Extreme Prossie, Catholic, Muslim, Sikh or whoever, it's not needed - or desired.
I wonder did he see the attacks on the police tonight by the Loyalists.
And joy was had by all...

// An MP was knocked unconscious while water cannon and plastic bullets were used to quell serious disorder in Belfast as hundreds of police drafted into Northern Ireland from across Britain had a baptism of fire at the end of the Twelfth of July – Ulster loyalism's most sacred day.

Sectarian clashes and attacks on police lines erupted in north and east Belfast with rioters throwing petrol bombs, golf balls, bricks and, in one case, wielding a ceremonial sword. At least seven police officers were injured and the Democratic Unionist MP Nigel Dodds taken to hospital after he was hit in the head by a projectile and rendered unconscious. //
The Orange Order called for protests but now they're washing their hands and claiming the violence has nothing to do with them.

Nothing new there, Sandy!
you claim not to be an IRA apologist, yet you have failed to explain why only one side are "bigots" - curious. Still I don't expect much from looking at your history of lefty illogic.
I assume he'd say the same if the Catholics were marching.
I don't ummm, classic partisanery

Tora...Its not entirely clear why we need anybody other than you on AB, as you appear to know how everybody thinks better than they do themselves.

Nowhere have I suggested that only one side has its fair share of bigots. But the link with my original post quite clearly points to the Loyalist faction being in the wrong here. When the other side behave in a similar fashion, as they probably will, I will be castigate them as well. If I forget to do so, then there will be plenty of people on AB that will remind me !

The Parades Commission was set up to stop outbreaks of serious violence of the sort that we have seen in the last 24 hours. The faction at fault here decided to ignore this democratic Commission. The loyalists could have abided by the verdict of the Commission but decided not to, for purely inflammatory reasons. They might represent a minority of the inhabitants of Northern Ireland but their stupid and selfish behaviour has resulted in a serious outbreak of civil unrest, something that the majority of Northern Ireland inhabitants fear and do not want or need more than any other issue.
Pathetic people get off on hating, winding up and attacking the opposite religion

the orange order have done themselves no favours in Belfast, they called for protests, so its their responsibility,
Even better from my viewpoint, tetjam!

That's okay, tetjam. You're forgiven!

A bit like answerbank then, going on this thread. !
Last year the same parade WAS allowed through by the Parades Commission and the violence came from the other side instead. It just shows what a hapless task it is trying to mediate in these issues
