yes, Twitter operates on pretty much the same basis here as there
Yes and he would get the same reaction. When he said it there was no proof of anything, totaly irrational.
One would hope not. It's illegal to stir up racial or religious hatred in the UK and rightly he'd be in a huge about of trouble if he said that here, besides is there a shred of evidence it's a Muslim group that's done this?
you've moved your goalposts onto a completely different field now, but no, a rail firm is not allowed to do anything of the sort and would be in big trouble if they tried.
And it is by no means clear that it happened, in any case.....
Do you think they should, or shouldn't?
He can claim that....but I think we'll have to wait for the facts to emerge.
He's not "allowed" to say such things in America either, it would come under either the fighting words limitation to the first amendment or the incitement one (probably incitement I think)

However, the fact saying something may be deemed illegal doesn't make it possible to actually stop a person saying it in the first place.

Could you clarify what point you are trying to make with this question please?
What point are you trying to make, AoG, with your questions?

Yes he would be "allowed" to say such a thing on Twitter because what you tweet is not bounded by geographic borders - Had may well have found himself subject to a police investigation for incitement to kill however

As to the second story, about an alleged banning of black/asian workers in case Peres, the visiting Israeli dignitary might meet then - its unproven, unsubstantiated allegations at the moment, between union and management - think we might need to see a bit more evidence first - but I would hope we did not see any such crude and hyperbolic profiling measures employed here in the name of security
Anecdotal/ one sided reporting by our totaly unbiased (PMSL) press does not a real story make.
Or is it that an attempt by you to try and demonstrate that The Daily Mail are no worse than those pesky leftie rags?
Don't know - was he being sarcastic - you'd have to hear to decide.

Expressing a genuine opinion as such would certainly be illegal in the UK, and I'd hope in the US.

I think there's a legal test of 'a moron in a hurry' regarding copyright

Perhaps a similar test should be applied such that if a moron in a hurry would see that it was sarcasm then that would be a fair defence.
Would George Galloway be allowed to make his anti Israel tirades on US TV? Probably not. Any discrepancies between all these countries is cultural. It does not prove anything, least of all that one is better than another.

Hello Chuck nice to see you back.

Regarding your question, I was unaware that one had to make a point never mind clarifying it, I was merely entering a news story up for discussion, and I was not aware that one had always to make a point.

Well one could say that if that is what you think, but I wouldn't dream on commenting.
No,but I suspect I am right in my assessment.
Sarcasm.
The title of this thread suggests that you do have some point. I'm curious what your own answer to the quesiton is, and whether or not you think he should be allowed to say such things. Because he has barely posted this it's possible that he will not be "allowed" - that is, prosecuted - to say it in the US either.
