Has The Welfare System Created A Monster?

Do you agree that the welfare system, the concept of which at first was a blessing, has now created a monster, as has been shown in this tragic case?
It has created a completely different species of human being, as has been shown with the various individuals interviews over this case, they tend to have a different look from the norm, so much so that some are have even been given a name, 'CHAVs'.
These are not the usual 'poor', in fact there are many who live in council houses, (now called social housing) who may not be 'well off' but are decent hard working people, who not only take a pride in themselves but also tend to live to a certain standard of morals.

One has come to expect such a sarcastic contribution as this, from the likes of you. You are a disgrace to your country by insulting our heroes in such a way.
This 'piece of garbage' was not a serving soldier he was a deserter, and in the past he would most likely have been shot for it, pity we don't still enforce this kind of punishment.

This 'piece of garbage' was not a serving soldier he was a deserter, and in the past he would most likely have been shot for it, pity we don't still enforce this kind of punishment.
It's disgusting to say that we should shoot deserters. In the modern army people choose to be there, so running away is perhaps less understandable. When we were shooting deserters we were also forcing them to join the army whether they wanted to or not. Pretty poor show to think that we should have shot those who didn't want to fight.

I do apologise if this came across as sarcastic it was not meant to be, but I did mean it!!

regardless of the fact he was in the armed services, no one seems to know for how long, if he was a deserter he would have been eventually caught. His record of abuse seems to be a very long one from early on, and i doubt being in the services had anything to do with that. he appears to be an abusive, cold hearted control freak, the women who he has lived with have more or less said this, including the poor young lass he almost killed, she was 17 at the time. I doubt very much this case has any merits to it, and when i said before that it was to do with money and was told it was to frame the ex, well that was also true, frame the ex, but also loss of benefits when the children went, he was looking to get the council for a bigger home, so more money in the pot.

Any 70 year old pensioner would be born 1943 so served neither in ww2 or in National Service
And could have spent all their lives on benefits

National Service ended gradually from 1957. It was decided that those born on or after 1 October 1939 would not be required, but conscription continued for those born earlier whose call-up had been delayed for any reason. In November 1960 the last men entered service, as call-ups formally ended on 31 December 1960, and the last National Servicemen left the Armed Forces in May 1963.
Currently, the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda practises conscription. This makes the Bermuda Regiment the only conscripted force still under the British Crown.
