Britain is the only country in the world that doesn't have it's name on their postage stamps! Just thought I'd share that with you. Any other little snippets of trivia available?

I read that also, Caran, a few years ago, The stamp is now known as a "Penny Black". History is great: "The present is the sum total of the past".
it is because at the time, nobody else had stamps so there was no need to identify them. (And if there was, the queen's head did the job.)

Someone said over the weekend that if the Queen had to produce photo evidence, all she had to do was show them a stamp :-)

If everybody in the world (7 billion) stood together shoulder to shoulder they would need an area of 862 square miles.. less than the area of Warwickshire(885 square miles).

...and Britain was the only country not to have its name on its coins. The Euro spoiled that particular uniqueness.
