I have been reading you since I was nine. 40 years, but now you are going behind a paywall (like the Times did).

Seriously, I will not be subscribing.

Would you Daily Mail (or other publication) readers subscribe if it went behind a paywall?

What's a paywall?
Not in the least embarrases by my ignorance.
it means you have to pay to look at the website.
Yes I'd definitely pay. The convenience far outweighs any principles.
How many readies are we talking about?
Typists and gongfermors, postillions and footplatemen * have gone. Hard copy newspapers are going the same way.

* ASLEF might argue - perhaps they maintain a footplate somewhere...
It's HoveActually, actually Jayne.

Coming from Brighton you should know that your neighbouring town had "Actually" appended to its name many years ago. You probably know that when Hoveians are asked if they are from Brighton they always reply, "No, Hove actually". This became so prevalent that the Council decided to rename their Town HoveActually. The Seagulls are also now known as Brighton & Hove Actually.
I read the Telegraph and I'm sad it's gone this way but won't subscribe.
Why bother? Nothing nicer than making a cup of coffee and taking it back to bed with The Telegraph delivered at 7.15 by my highly efficient and much appreciated paper boy.
Pencil, sharpener and eraser beside the bed. Crossword time whilst the starlings raid the bird feeder outside my bedroom window. Bliss!
How queer, New Judge.........
Seriously, there is so much news everywhere, and so many free sheets that the days of paid newsprint are numbered.

I pay £24 pa. for the Times Crossword Club site, and haven't bought a Times for years...
Of course it will limit the number of links ABers can post in News.
Gromit, old blue blob, I wouldn't have put you down for the Torygraph!!!

Perhaps you have learned to love Saint Maggie?
No I doubt I would subscribe to a newspaper, I vary between the Daily Express and Mail nowadays. I loved the Telegraph and the Observer when I was working but the OH doesn't like them so I rarely get the Telegraph now, I'm sorry to hear it is going behind a paywall.
The Telegraph crossie sucks, anyway...

And The Sun is to go behind a paywall as well.
Only because you can't do it, Pope V.....
I have for years bought The Mail, The Express and The Times. I still think it's value for money. The bonus for me is the crosswords. Collectively, that's a lot of very smart people.
Gromit. You now have a wonderful opportunity to take up the Guardian !

Full access on the 'net for free, plus the bonus of much fairer reporting of news events. You can always buy the Daily Mail once in a while if you are missing the news with a Tory-bias. The Tory party will miss your regular monetary input into its funds of course, but, well, you can't have everything.

You have nothing to loose but your chains Gromit !
Also....not sure what the loss is, in making on-line access to The Sun payable. Am I missing something here ?
No paper guardian? What am I going to do for bog roll if I cant get free copies of an awful paper they can't shift ?
