My parents are wanting to rent a small holding property in the tyne and wear area, they've so far tried local estate agents but all they keep getting offered are actual farms or houses with a parcel of land!

Does anyone know of any good websites where this type of property may be advertised!

Do you mean an allotment? If so, are they using that actual word when asking? If they're saying smallholding,id think they want a house with a small plot of land too.
A smallholding is, by definition, property with land attached.
To rent land, more than an allotment, you need somewhere like this, although land is sometimes specified as pasture, and can't be ploughed in.

You can search sites like above or contact a Land Agent who may know of some land to rent.
i too thought a smallholding was a house with larger-than-a-garden land
