Drugs are banned in all prisons now. Does that ban work?
I'm afraid I have old fashioned views on prison in that people are sent there to be punished. If I was in charge they'd have no time to smoke they'd do 12 hours work and 12 hours locked up.
No fag drag for a lag.

The smoking of tobacco ban in pubs works, but in some pubs drugs are freely smoked.
// in some pubs drugs are freely smoked //

Really. How many? Why are the police not upholding the law?

A link to some evidence of these drug pubs would be nice.
More likely that some sort of powder is snorted off the toilet cistern.
Willie Weir, landlord of the County Hotel, said: “This is the first time we have had this and I think it is absolutely fantastic.

“I feel supportive of this and I am totally against drugs.”
(except those that attract eyewatering duty and taxes on behalf of the government) he might have added

Thanks for those worthless links AOG.

The ban is about passive smoking. I asked for evidence of people freely smoking drugs in pubs, your links are about people dealing in drugs not smoking them. I am well aware that drugs are snorted and ingested in pubs and clubs, but no one employed in those establishments is ever going to make a claim for passive snorting.
I had no idea they where exempt anyway. I can see why it's necessary though all those compo claims are going to force action at some point.
Agree with one of the posters in the paper. Its getting like 1984.
you can't smoke in mental health institutions, you have to go outside to smoke... there are garden areas attached to some of these places, if not too bad, don't know which is worse.
Can't smoke on construction sites either. Out in the middle of a muddy field.
Why?
So puffed up,pompous, preening popinjays can hold sway over their betters, ie, me.
glad i don't smoke x
My prediction is that violence amongst prisoners and towards prison guards will rise very sharply as well as drug use if smoking is banned completely.
surely they have smoking areas, outside for example or indeed smoking rooms...
won't cause a problem will it? inmates of hm prisons are renowned for respecting the law
Em10, smoking areas? It's a prison not the airport! Sometimes they'd be lucky to get out of their cells at all.

"won't cause a problem will it?" Of course it will, you'll have fights, riots, suicides, dirty protests etc..
the sarcasm in my post obviously escaped you Ronnie
Aaaa good, now they are to be punished. No Virginian weed, what good idea.
