I know some of you would not wish to have anything to do with the Daily Mail, but seeing this is a slow news day, perhaps you would care to browse these stunning photos?

Tragic news about that pensioner though.

Lovely pics AOG.

Motorists throwing rocks at gritters - what on earth is that about? It means that people are actully taking the time to stop their cars, get out and find a rock(s) and throw them at gritting trucks - what on earth is that supposed to achieve?

I think part of the problem is that we have an entire generation of drivers, and another on the way, who have never experienced snow and ice like this, and are not taking enough care, slowing down, and keeping their distance.

i have the luxury of being able to work from home if i wish - i think tomorrow may a good day to do just that!
great pictures, thanks. i loved the one of the golfers :)
Are those ducks doing the tango?

Given the forecast here I'll do my shopping tonight, should be quiet in Asda around 9.
The BBC said yesterday that we were going to get 6 inches of snow here on the Fylde coast, today they say we may get very light snow at lunchtime tomorrow, then light snow for an hour during tomorrow night.

They really should make their minds up.
we had snow the other day but it didn't settle, rather too wet.
Thanks for sharing the pix.
I hate snow,even in pictures.
i like snow, however i don't like the council you don't clear pavements.
We dont usually get a lot here in Devon, but when we do very little gets done to try and get things moving again. But thats not the reason I hate it. I never liked it even as a child. My daughter loves it,she's like a big kid when it snows. Our dog used to like it as well.
I liked the pictures. They were very pretty, pity it is so dangerous. Fortunately for me I have no need to go out until next Tuesday afternoon, when I am booked in at the hairdressers. Plenty of food, plenty of tea (essential) nice warm house. I feel sorry for those poor animals. Makes me glad I was born into a human body.
It's snowing now here in Notts, very light at the moment but the sky looks full of it so we don't know how it's going to end up.
If its to be believed it's supposed to be bad isn't it?

I imagine Mini Boo will still be at school, we have a "if I can make it, so can you lot" kinda headmistress- she's ace!

Mr Boo however is bringing his work laptop home so he can work from home, he has a 35 mile journey to work each day and it won't be worth risking it.

I've topped up the gas card, bought bread and milk, im not shifting.

Stay safe AOG :-)
I have just been out to get some bits carefully avoiding the ice patches left from the snow earlier in the week so hopefully can now stay safe and snug - really feel for those who have to both venture out and indeed work in it.

The plus side has been watching the ducks from my window doing an ice ballet on the frozen lodge :-)

Just looking outside I'll have to revise my plans, will go to the supermarket sooner as it's sticking now and shows no sign of abating!
Light snow here now in Leicestershire - sure they didn't forecast any until tomorrow!
As usual, we're not prepared for it. Well, I'm not. It's all right for people who go skiing; they've probably got the gear at home for cold.

Schools closing? Blimey, if they closed schools with the frequency we do in snow, Norway's and Canada's wouldn't be open from late November to early March!
Those gritter drivers deserve a medal. Seems that this government has got to grips with the problem this year instead of councils moaning they cant afford the deicing materials.
According to the map we're only in for 0 or 1 centimetre

Hopefully that will prove to be the case
at home, we are not prepared, but at work I have an extensive bad weather plan in place to get deliveries out. That's if I can get there to implement it!?!
