There is no doubt that some (note, not all) immigrants have brought to the UK some lifestyles that many people already here find "shockingly offensive". There is also no doubt that many (but note again, not all) of the incidents such as the one described involve either immigrants or recent descendants of immigrants. Many people make this connection and conclude that immigration has not been the unfettered joy that many would have them believe.
Why is it so offensive to want to debate such an issue? Are people in this country such sensitive souls that robust debate offends them so much?

imo, em and new judge make points worth measured debate, however cheap the op.
However, since you ask about not taking your word for it, I'd be really interested, pdq from the link you post, to see the availability of rigorous peer review literature of this theory, taken from a "please donate" site. Any other links?
And I wonder if the author has similar insights to offer about left-handed or red-headed people?

Fred, not a good or reasoned response, you know full well that isn't the case, but i have spoken from a degree of experience. And our borough and any number of others in the capital have seen a sharp rise in gun and knife crime, most related to gang culture, the respect nonsense and recreational drugs, which as any knows rakes in lots of money for those who deal in them. Sadly young people are dying from this insidious trade and the fact remains many involved are young black men, who as i said, some to feel disenfranchised from mainstream society. I am not making that as an excuse, because my belief is this, if you come to Britain, which regardless of what some think offers good opportunities for young people, school, higher education, if they don't take those opportunities but waste it in the way that some seem to be, then who's fault is that. I find it strange that people come here for a better life to give to their children, then some of those children do exactly the opposite of what the parents expect. More lives lost, like the recent young black man, a victim of mistaken identity, killed by two young black men. What's the answer.
AOG, ignore those who post offensive responses. Or if you feel so inclined report the matter.
I know that the original post was rather contentious, for some people in Britain immigration no matter where the people come from has not been a good thing. If one cannot debate that and put across a point of view then all is lost.

I'm sorry but if you post a statement "Ah The Joy of Immigration" in relation to a story such as the one in the link (as opposed to a story actually about the joys of immigration) then you are (probably deliberately) asking for a particular type of response, in addition to whatever else you may get.
If you can't take it, don't dish it out - advice I've often given before :-)
