I wonder why you pay more for a dog with a good pedigree?
Sorry, it should have been in the animal topic.
I guess because you want an inbred with brain damage
Sorry should have been in animals too
wonder what happens if those more recent arrivals decide that in 5 years time or perhaps less, the countries they have come from are in a better financial position than Britain, not without some merit, will they perhaps upsticks to their homeland, then where will we be with such a possible shortfall of workers, and more importantly their taxes, money they generate, which pays into a system for all to share in. The government is already concerned about shortfalls in pensions, and that many will have to work a good deal longer than they do now to make ends meet.
As to white or black Britons, doubt colour has much to do with it, more who's culture will survive, and who's will take it's place. We should all have a vested interested in modern day Britain.
a lot of Poles returned home when things improved there, em. It made sense: they had PhDs and they all ended up as plumbers. Once Poland's economy picked up, they were able to start finding jobs for which they were better qualified.

Re religion: Jedi knights down from 330,000-odd to 176,632. 6,242 answered Heavy Metal, 1,893 said they were Satanists and 650 said they were New Age.

Pagans ranked highly with 56,620 adherents, while 11,766 identified their religion as Wicca and 4,189 said they were druids. More druids than Scientologists, though.

However, only 29,267 atheists, and 32,382 agnostics.
Ha ha ha...brilliant.

I also like the idea of a 'censors form' (AOG typo from earlier).
I wonder if I should have put down Old Age for my religion?
A point about Muslims, they will decline not rise, at the moment they are emigree's from their religious countrys, their children aren't. They will want the things that other British kids want, they may adhere until they get married, they won't when they leave home and their kids will just be kids.

When the West Indians came there was huge trouble about culture etc, but look now 4 generations in, their "kids" are as British as anyone else and only those who can't see past the colour of skin would disagree.

Jno where are those figures your quoting come from?
yes some did, but many came back, as to Plumbers they can earn far more than someone with a PHD.
Davethedog raises an interesting point.

I was talking with some friends about the death of reggae. Back in the 70s, reggae was the predominant musical choice of black kids. It waned in the 80s and now - well, it's practically a dead format for anyone under the age of 40.

That's because eventually people move away from the influence of their parents/grandparents.

Where it was Bob Marley, it's now homegrown boys like Professor Green, Tinie Tempah, Taio Cruz, Calvin and Dizzie
dave i am not convinced about your first statement, the kids may want what other British kids have, they doesn't seem to be the case in some parts of the capital. I still see many women, and very young girls wearing a burkha, headscarf, this is going to take any number of generations.
It wasn't the West Indian culture that was the problem, it was the fact they were black. I know because many of my mates and indeed boyfriend was from the West Indian community. The police harassment, and general ill feeling in some quarters led to lots of tension, which did blow up and we ended up with riots. The fact is for some people of all divides colour has mattered, it shouldn't but there is one ray of hope at least according to yesterdays paper, there are now over a million mixed race relationships, meaning that perhaps one day colour will not be an issue.
first there was Calypso, and then Ska, artists like Prince Buster, reggae came after, it hasn't gone away entirely.
Get out whilst you still can. (from a pretty village in the south of France, (je ne regrette rien))
Overall - non British born is 13% UK wide - i don't find this figure frightening at all.

As as for the London figures they included Irish of which is a large %.
that will increase quite quickly in consideration of the population birth rates amongst immigrants to be higher than indigenous population. London has seen quite a shift in it's communities, there are large parts of the capital that have dominant asian communities, some boroughs they are in the majority, so perhaps one day that song melting pot will ring true.
sorry, Davethedog, I should have included a link

The figures themselves come from the census, of course.
interesting that some people would put Satanist on a census form
For the son of a Jewish immigrant to accept mass immigration into this small island and condemns as racist those who fear for its future forgets the treatment of Palestinians by Israel for wanting a homeland.
The last Labour government has ruined this country with the mass immigration it encouraged with all the crime and social upheaval that goes with it. The ensuing social unrest that is bound to unfold in the next few years will be totally their fault. They should never be trusted in government again.
