I shouldn't think the kids in Vietnam he was jailed for abusing were "throwing themselves" at him. They were quite possibly unaware that he'd been a glam rock singer on the other side of the world 10 years before they were born.
Now we are really getting to the bottom of it.
wasn't he arrested for grooming young boys?
agree, jno
Jimmy Savile died aged 84. He had a very good life. He managed to do whatever he wanted by the look of it. Plenty of money - adulation by the public for the charity work he did (while living the good life himself) and freedom to assault young people with no adverse effect on himself. The people who should be being charged are the ones who let him get away with it when they knew it was happening. It is too late to do anything to the perpetrator - if there is a life after death he is there laughing at all of us and planning what he is going to do in his next incarnation. That is what makes me annoyed - that he should get away with it with no punishment and also that I feel so helpless to do anything.
I recon he's the leader he's the leader the leader of the pack he is.
tony - it's reckon, not recon - you can't get away from the spelling police.
Doh. but star I am in the couldn't give a **** about the spelling police !
It's also leader of the gang .............not that it makes it any funnier.
I totally agree with Mick-Talbot, there are bigger fish out there who should at least be in the 'keep net'.

Very strange that all this has come to the surface now that the guilty one is dead, how many of the present 'pop stars' are taking advantage of their 'celebrity' status, so as to abuse some of their fans?
Just as in real life, AOG, only a very small percentage....that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be wheedled out, they should. However, don't damn the majority with such a tarred brush.
Oops, my answer was removed. I guess I shouldn't have mentioned the other person's name.
LOL, I love waking the pedants up.
I can't help wondering if the boy band and teeny bopper stars - Bay City Rollers, David Essex, Marc Bolan, etc - who did ask girl fans their ages and were responsible are in the minority, to be honest.

Not pointing my finger at anyone in particular, just that whole era.

And who damned the majority with such a tarred brush?

I merely asked the question:

how many of the present 'pop stars' are taking advantage of their 'celebrity' status, so as to abuse some of their fans
If there was ever a case of 'round up the usual suspects...'
and my answer implies "very few", unless you have recognised statistical evidence to the contrary.
One question I have is... People have waited till Saville was dead before coming forward but why wait till now to name Paul Gadd?
As has been said, he has just been released for similar crimes so how comes no one came forward then? Surely that would have been the perfect time.

I think that a lot of people are thinking along those lines, Lisa.
gives a whole new meaning to "do you want to be in my gang"
