Olympic Sponsorship

Does anybody know whether the following is apocryphal?

I've heard that the torch bearers have been told they must wear Adidas trainers when they are carrying the torch.

I've also heard the medal winners must wear Adidas trainers when they receive their medals regardless of any personal sponsorship deals they may have with other manufacturers.

I'm doubtful whether this is true, but I have heard it from more than one source.

The Telegraph seemed to think it was true, at least back in February.

This seems to be because of intense competiton and rivalry between Adidas and Nike, and the national team kit requirements superceding personal sponsorship contracts.
