I just read a post someone wrote pretending their cat died... and how upset they were and their partner was.
Other regular posters here recognised it was a troll... (no idea how.. their senses must be very tuned to it!)
Why would someone do such a thing and what kick do they get out of it?
I think its pathetic... sad.... and also surprising they dont have more in their life to do than create a whole pretence....

I just cant understand it.. I hope that they never truly lose something or someone they love.. though I expect one day they will.... karma and all that maybe!

ditto, they give the cyber community a bad name!
I don't get it. I believe in fate too. Ever muttered a stupid thought and immediately touched wood. I wouldn't do it.

Creepy really. And actually posting for attention like that. Weird.
Im guessing they are not happy people in real life

yes Meerkat it is pretty creepy...
Sort of thing a teenager would do... attention seeking.. fabricate a virtual life or existence....
Maybe there are mental issues???
Shizzle happens in life - and one day they will truly experience stress, pain and suffering and hurt... but who will believe them then eh!
I wonder if they have any close friends who know they do this kind of thing
its a bit sick isnt it
I tend to think it's two things, either you're an obnoxious, attention seeking w4nker of which there are many in this world, and who we meet in day to day life who I ignore accordingly; or if I'm being generous, you may have mental health problems and/or be incredibly isolated and lonely in which case I might pity you but still think you're a bit of an Yabbie and will still report you if I see you as I don't think your methods of getting attention are particularly healthy.

^I don't think there's much to add to that, CD.....:o)
Risky business, feeling sure you've spotted a troll. Best to err on the safe side.
I honestly believe there is something wrong with the person that does that. I actually feel a little sorry for them.

I dont know how best to spot a troll... other than looking at their info for their username... I think a lot of you a quite instinctive on it though

Why are people afraid to write the trolls actual username in a thread and they just allude to it with initials instead? We should be able to publicly name and shame shouldnt we?
i agree, its terrible
^ Priceless...........

By posting about such people do you realise you are simply giving them the attention they crave?
Nosha you say "Why are people afraid to write the trolls actual username in a thread and they just allude to it with initials instead? We should be able to publicly name and shame shouldnt we?"

What, without proof?
Where is this post? Has it gone?
when i posted under a different name for a short while because i didn't want people asking me how i was, i got accused of being all sorts of people posting under a fake name. Very regular users such as nomercy and trimeresaurus accused me of being various users. i found it most strange and it certainly made me question how people think they "know" these things!
Don't feed the trolls
