Are we quickly becoming a disunited kingdom?

It seems that Scotland has a voice, Wales has a voice and Northern Ireland has a voice, in whether or not they want to be part of the United Kingdom, everyone it seems but England, aren't we allowed a voice?

/// the UK has four separate governments and now the three devolved administrations, in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, are winning greater economic and legal powers, ///

That should be the UK has three separate governments and a United Kingdom Government, because I have never heard of an ENGLISH Government.

If the UK were to split up, would there no longer be the 'Union Flag', and would we revert to the flag of St. George?

Would England retain the monarchy and would they once again be called the Kings & Queens of England?

The final question being, "do English ABers think England would be better off separated from our three neighbours"?

I would rather we stayed as the United Kingdom, better together than separate in the longer term. And no matter what one think's of being in the EU, we have a stronger voice as a United Kingdom, than separate.
I don't think it will come to a split, separation and so we would retain the Union Jack, but if ever we did, then England should fly the Flag of St George.
i sense that the event (should it occur) would not be as dramatic as is made out.
The United Kingdom is irrelevant. A limited English parliament, with certain powers still with a UK parliment such as defence, energy policy, transport etc.

The Union flag would not be suitable for just England. The Saint George cross flag is OK but we should maybe adopt something more suitable to a secular country, you know, sometning with a few crescents on etc.
it could be like the south carolina sovereignty flag, except without the stars.
Gromit, a secular country, how did that come about, and England would fly the flag of St George.

Agree, fly it high with pride, from every public building.
Gromit we do not have crescents on our British flags.

whiskeyron, no we don't, our local council used to run up the communist red flag once upon a time, never could understand that.
"Would England retain the monarchy and would they once again be called the Kings & Queens of England?" that would be a matter for the English but Alex Salmond is happy for the present monarch to be Elizabeth, Queen of Scots and there would again be Kings and Queens of Scots.
Maybe a crescent on a green background to represent England's Green and Pleasant land. Possibly need a bit of glam, so maybe a star.
We could adopt the flag of st. George with the EU stars quartered in the top left hand quadrant
I reckon my avatar would make a lovely flag for our Country - all-inclusive
JTP, if you want to do that fine, but come the revolution i shall be flying the Cross of St George, and we are still a Christian country, no matter what many on here think. hurumph
If we have any sense we'd return the monarchy to where they came. Since Germany probably won't want them maybe the Scots ought to have them for passing James on to share. Or should they go Dutch or something. Anywhere but here. As for the no English parliament thing, well that's been obvious for ages.
With regards to there not being an English government, with many powers devolved to the Parliament of Scotland and the Asemblies of Ulster and Wales, some Secretaries of State have powers only in England so in effect they are English Government ministers and not UK ones.

Surely steve the queen is the sovereign of England, Scotland and Wales, therefore we are a kingdom.
Hate to nit pick but Wales is a principality.
