/// Det Con Maxwell has been on leave from the force on half pay since July 2009 while suffering from depression ///

So this former black and homosexual police officer is suing the Met for homophobic attitudes and racial discrimination, because he is facing dismissal from the force after being off sick since July 2009.

How blowing the whistle on his former colleagues anti terrorist actions will help his case, I just do not know.

If any of those passengers with obvious non-white names including Arabic and African sounding names, consider they have been unfairly treated, surely it is for them to sue the Met?

The case, which is expected to last six weeks, should be an interesting one to follow.

If he's a former black and homosexual police officer, presumably he's now white and heterosexual, is he?
aog does not appear to be bothered that the anti-terrrorist police were not dong their job properly. With regard to passengers prosecuting the Met, if they didn't know their details were being used in the first place how can they take sue?

Who says they wasn't, only this guy who obviously has an axe to grind?

Exactly, so how can it help his claim.

That is pathetic, your assumption would have only been correct if I had put,

"He was formerly black and homosexual".
"Who says they wasn't, only this guy who obviously has an axe to grind?"

"How blowing the whistle on his former colleagues anti terrorist actions will help his case, I just do not know."

You asked why the passengers don't sue the Met and then appear to know already that they would not know they had been checked, so why ask the question in the first place?

The allegations made are being investigated, the evidence will be looked at and a decision will be made. I was making the point that part of the allegation involves the claim that the Met police were not doing their job properly and yet you chose not to concentrate on that. You appear to think it is not a problem that the claim is being made. Could there not be a connexion between his whistle blowing and the way he claims to have been treated?

He says the police were claiming to have checked those wi Arabic and African names, if a John Smith were let through un-checked only because of his name, would you agree that would be wrong?

With regard to "obvious non-white names" you again associate a nationality wi a certain colour, you keep being telt
that went to early.. you keep being telt that nationality and colour are not the same and yet you can not seem to grasp the fact.
Black AND homosexual........!?!

I hope you didn't sprain anything in your haste to get to your computer this morning?

Certainly an early Christmas present for some people.
If he'd been black, homosexual AND foreign..... then again he's black so he can't really be English can he?
i have no problem with him being black
aog, that was a joke you humourless fool. But, to be the pedant I so obviously am, I will point out that had you said 'this black and homosexual former police officer', you would have been more accurate. What you actually put suggests that he is no longer all three.

If you mean "With" and "Told", then I can begin to make some sense of what you have put.

Nevertheless let me inform you that if you had took the trouble to read all the report, instead of just trying to make me out to be a racist, then you would have not failed to notice that those words were the utterances of the person himself, who happens to be black so therefore could not be classed a racist.

/// 'My colleagues would then sift through the cards they had taken, looking for passengers with what they considered obvious non-white names including Arabic and African sounding names. ///

Now you know the true facts, perhaps you will equally criticise this police officer for daring to associate a nationality with a certain colour? As it appears it is he who cannot grasp that fact.

i also read it and thought how can you be formerly black (unless you are michael jackson)
If this policeman has a complaint about Met police lax practices at Heathrow, he should have brought it to someone`s attention internally. Instead, he`s chosen to advertise potential holes in border control security via the internet because it helps his case.

/// Wow how much would your knickers have been in a twist if he had been black, homosexual, foreign and had kids!!! ///

My underwear is perfectly straight, even though it is fact that he fits at least two of the four.

Perhaps there is a chance he may fit all four, but even if this was a fact, I would still be unruffled may I add.

How's yours now?

RH - at least they`re not dragging down your underwear :-)

/// because it helps his case.///

Rather because he is on the verge of being sacked for being a lazy sod.

2 years off work suffering from depression, I ask you.

I know someone who was severely depressed and was back at work within a few weeks after receiving both medical and mental attention.

Are you complaining Helen, would you rather it be the other way?
