Do you think the world is a safer place? I think in general it is because of the increased security , but i dont think its necessarily safer for muslims.Who in my experience , for the main part are no different from non-muslims ( i wont say christians because i know many people who would say they are christians but havent seen the inside of a church barring weddings or funerals). I think muslims are under a great deal of suspicion and fear in everyday life , much like the irish were in England during the troubles, but on an even greater scale.
It would be nice if we could all live happily together , but it seems like a dream more than a reality im afraid.

The world isn't a safer place unfortunately. In the U.S. sense 9/11 hate crimes against Muslims and Arabs has increased by 100%
on this day nearly 3,000 died, from all walks of life, nationalities, religions, a terrible event, and the world isn't a safer place, for anyone. All the deaths since then, not forgetting the 52 who died in London 7th July. I can't see this being over, not for a long time.
>> ( i wont say christians because i know many people who would say they are christians but havent seen the inside of a church barring weddings or funerals) <<

in your little world do all christians have to go to church every sunday and pray every day
in your little world have they accepted gay people into church

>> Do you think the world is a safer place? << no it is not , it is a lot more unsafe
Don't know about it being a safer place but it seems to be a more suspicious place.
No.
No, the world is a much changed place and very much less safe now and I agree with Dr F, do I really need to go and sit in a Church to be a Christian person?

Hi Naomi, so nice to see you posting xxxx
No, aand didn't I read somewhere the other day that threats have been made for todays rememberence service in New York?
I listened to a feature on the radio early this morning from New York. Some Muslims from Manchester (who had absolutely nothing to do with the 9-11 event) were saying how immediately after the event, people in Manchester started to abuse them and throw stones at their headscarved sisters. It's a shame that everyone gets tarred with the same brush - the Muslim people I know don't condone terrorism one bit, but still feel that they are treated with suspicion and dislike, as the OP says.
It would be nice if people of all creeds could live in harmony but it will never happen. We've been murdering each other for no sensible reason for thousands of year and I can't see that changing in the near future.
