After reading this report, plus what has happened in Paris, have those who believe we should allow the hordes that are coming in from Syria, to wander freely across Europe, had a change of mind?

'These include monitoring extremists who have trained in the Middle East and returned to Britain, as well home-grown radicals who may be plotting attacks or raising funds for terrorists.'

Note the words 'returned' and 'home grown' which strongly suggest that the people, they are watching aren't part of the 'hordes' you mention.

A wee bit hard to judge the scale of the problem since no-one will say how many of the UK suspects have been prosecuted let alone convicted of any crimes.
I haven't changed my mind in so much as I cannot understand why the police are just monitoring these people.
I have little faith in this country's ability to stop wannabee jihadists from coming and going. They even let schoolgirls go.
The French knew their terrorists were living amongst them and so did the Belgians but they let them slip under the radar and come back to cause death and mayhem. If they are a suspected threat then they should be interned. This is a war. Emergency war measures should be introduced as well a non forgeable National Identity Cards.
Mass immigration supporters won't change their minds. They would prefer to live in a far more dangerous society than to appear even the least bit racist or xenophobic.

You are divorcing yourself from reality if you don't believe there are extremist in amongst the refugees/immigrants.
As I understand it, most of the murderers last week in Paris were French citizens. Because of its colonial past, France has many citizens who may be Muslim.

Out of the four people responsible for the 7/7 London bombings, 3 were born in the UK.
What I'm saying is, I think the infiltration began way before the recent influx. I haven't changed my mind because I disagreed with unrestricted immigration before. Just to be clear.
Exactly Mikey. The boat has already sailed / the horse has bolted / the cat's out of the bag / Pandora's box is well and truly open.

I haven't had a satisfactory answer yet but here goes ... please explain why you are telling us this mikey (although we are all aware of where this murderous scum were born)

I will repeat where I am coming from ... the immigrants didn't bomb go on a machine gun rampage their children did!
So to me that is a far worse scenario.
.....and makes the original q redundant.
But will history repeat itself?

That well may be, but you are not answering my question.
Talbot........the implication from AOG's thread is that we would all be safe without the recent refugees, and I have clearly pointed out that the group of people responsible for the murderous attacks on London and Paris were not refugees.

I think that these refugees should be monitored more carefully but the threat seems to be coming from within, not from the shores of Greek islands.
Your question is anachronistic AOG. If you'd asked it 30 / 40 years ago it might be relevant.
I have given my answer above AOG....I think that refugees should be monitored more carefully, but by pushing them back into the Aegean, isn't going to make us safe. We should be looking within, not without...this is where the latest threats are coming from, as the Belgians are now finding.
We are looking within Mikey. That's what it says in the article (the bit I quoted).

And where pray have I even remotely implied that?

/// I think that these refugees should be monitored more carefully but the threat seems to be coming from within, not from the shores of Greek islands. ///

Once again that is taken as read, but once again please answer my question, if you are finding it hard let me put it another way.

Should we now put an end to this invasion of Europe?
Britain has a bloody pastand the past is where it should stay. Modern Britain is one of the finest countries in the world, any person born here should feel themselves lucky. Any person invited into this country should feel even more lucky, how on earth the children of these lucky people grow up to want to inflict atrocities on their fellow citizens is beyond me.

OK, mikey ... now address the situation of 'homegrown terrorism'
Have you any opinion other than they are not refugees or imigrants?
Well alright, how about we're having so much trouble from home-grown muslims, why not stop importing more.

Well to make it more relevant then, should we not learn from the mistakes we made 30/40 years ago?
I have given my answer as best as I can AOG !

Of course we should end the flow of refugees ! It was said just after the Paris attacks that similar deaths and casualties occur in Syria on a daily basis. As long as that situation is allows to continue, there will be waves of refugees, just as there always are from a war zone.
