Every little elfs.
My local Co-op has had Mince Pies since the last week of August, with a sell-by date of mid October.
M & S had Xmas puds just after the Aug bank holiday !. We've still got Halloween and Guy Fawkes to get through before Christmas. !
Card Factory started doing Christmas stuff weeks ago.

I agree DB. When I am in my caravan in Cornwall, its about a 20 mins drive every morning to get the paper. I have good wifi in the 'van but reading a newspaper on-line just isn't the same. You can't sit outside in the sun, because you can't see the screen. Better than nothing though. I don't go abroad much these days but it must be useful to be able to read your favourite paper when you are away. The Guardian doesn't charge for on-line use, than goodness.
Our local Tesco stocked up on Christmas goods weeks ago, cards, decorations, the lot. They want to get in early I expect.
I don't know why anyone is surprised, it's the same every year!
Asda are currently selling hot cross buns.
Easter a Eggs go on sale on Boxing Day at Tesco. Same every year.
come boxing day, shop assistants all over the UK will be muttering under their breath and manually inputting 52601600.......
