Why do Radios 1, 2, 3, and 4 and Classic FM etc all broadcast on different frequencies across the country if each of their different frequencies broadcast he same thing?

this is beacause transmissions off neighbouring transmitters interfere with each other if they are on the same frequency, so a complex system of seperating the frequencies is used to ensure this doesn't happen. (the effect is quite easy to hear if you are listening on MW as the volume level rises and falls when moving in a car.Digital broadcasting systems do not have the same problems and this gives the ability to transmit on the same frequencies across the country.
