I agree 100%. He had a quality of timbre and improvisational skill which (almost) rivalled John Coltrane.

My father knew him quite well, as a musician too, and played many clubs with him such as Ronnie Scotts and the 100 Club in London.

A sad loss and may he rest in peace, and love and deepest sympathies to Cleo and all family
