The official Manchester tourism website doesn't mention any night clubs on Wilmslow Road. You'll probably have to head for Oldham Street, Oxford Road, Oxford Street or Whitworth Street:

The nearest thing you'll get to a nightclub there is the Queen of Hearts in Fallowfield. It's a big pub with a DJ and late bar - very popular with students, but in August it might be a bit quiet.
