I heard a track on TV like 10+ years ago before i really listened to music...but it stuck in my head ever since. It could have been on either TOTP or TOTP2 (in the UK). The studio performance (or video?) was like two guys in two spinning enclosures with keyboards all round the rims... reminded me of the teacups from teacup rides as a child! The tune was pretty electronic sounding and sounded something like this (recorded myself, just the tune i remember):

either that or someone slipped acid into my drink.

Thanks for that! It's bugging me now!

Sounds remarkably famiiar.

It actually sounds very similar to the introduction to Roachford's "Cuddly Toy" but that doesn't fit in with anything else you mention.

A few Qs.

I take it you have no real idea when the track is from as you heard it 10+ years ago but if it was on TOTP2 it could have been from much earlier.

Electronic sound/keyboards is mostly early 80s.

Assume it must be fairly obscure if you haven't heard it in the meantime? ie. it also sounds a tad like Soft Cell's Tainted Love but that is played very often so I assume you know it.

Is what you have played the intro or just an extract from the track?

Was it instrumental or did either or both of the two guys sing?

Any description of them? White? Hair - dark or blond, spikey?

Electronic types - Soft Cell, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Pet Shop Boys, Howard Jones, Nik Kershaw, A Flock of Seagulls.

I agree with barney, the tune's very much like Roachford's Cuddly Toy...and Tainted Love too...

...and it's bugging me now! :o)
Falco - rock me amadeus?
