The song "I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker" makes reference to both the Punk and Hippy "eras"...

In 77 and 69 revolution was in the air

"God Save The Queen" is a punk anthem courtesy of the Sex Pistols and Procol Harum's classic single is symbolic of the late 60s. Thus that lyrical sentiment quoted in your question continues to evoke both styles of music.
