what are peoples favourite songs and lyrics of all time?

There ar just so many, i have about 20 songs which remind me of the different people and things i love. 'Waiting for a star to fall' is a goodun.

I know what you mean about there being too many... I love Lauryn Hill's lyrics in "Ex-Factor" especially, "it could all be so simple but you'd rather make it hard, loving you is like a battle where we both end up with scars".

Carly Simon, you;re so vain and nobody does it better are some of my faves, along with dolly parton nine to five, breathe by sean paul and blu cantrell, waiting for a star to fall is ace, and champagne supernova by oasis... too many to mention now that i think about it actually...

Carly Simon "You're so vain" is a classic-did you know that Mick Jagger backs on that track, though has never been credited for it!

My fave lyric is 'If You Could Read My Mind Love' by Gordon Lightfoot, and i think my favourite song is 'Anything That's Rock And Roll' by Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers.

But why does that lyric strike you Andy?

Because of the imagery - a ghost and a wishing well, and the plaintive "But for now love, let's be real ..." and the emotion of someone who has fallen out of love, and doesn't know what to do about it. I just love everything about it - especially its use on 'Trigger Happy TV'!

my fave song is either 'just a day' vy Feeder or 'Time of your life' by Green Day Fave lyric is one I posted in a similar thread to this.A song called 'The Body' by Public Image Ltd and goes.... When you run around with precautions,you'll get diseases,need abortions.Up till now,no vaccination to give you back your reputation........
