Haha Boo. I actually like some of Duran Duran. On our way to a Dirty Pretty things gig, looking particularly indie we drove into Hammersmith coming off the motorway with the windows down and the music well loud. Singing our socks off to the reflex... I looked out the window and there was a group of kids staring at us in dismay. Felt like an indie fraud.

When I were a nipper, I thought Nirvana were overrated. But then, I was being too indie for indie probably. How could I like someone who had chart success? That was 1992. Nowadays I think they had potential. Some great songs, some not so great. As RevFunk said, they had one great album from their entire repertoire. If Kurt was alive today, I'll bet he would have produced some fine music indeed. Either that or gone the way of Syd Barrett.....

Either way, Sonic Youth were the true Indie Kids' noise generator ;o)
