I was expecting an iPod for my birthday.
I hinted that I wanted one in June.
I hinted that I wanted one in July.
I hinted that I wanted one in August.
The hints culminated in a whole 'hinting weekend' at the beginning of September.
I didn't get the iPod.
I'm now fairly certain that my partner has developed the ability to look as if he's listening to me, but instead is thinking about something completely different (China Doll - around 80% of men can do this...it's genetic).
I didn't buy the iPod in the end because apart from increased capacity (I want the 160Gb to replace my 60Gb unit), it didn't have anything else to recommend itself.
But I still want it for Christmas.
I am in the middle of devising a new hiniting strategy which includes me wearing a t-shirt bearing the slogan "BUY ME AN IPOD FOR CHRISTMAS"

Actually, this thread can stay in the News section, as the new iPods have just been released and it's been all over the papers in the past week.
I am not sure about the iPhone because I've heard that it will only be available on one network (the latest nerd gossip suggests this will be Vodaphone).
I'm on T-Mobile and have no intention to switch because I have a good deal.
A colleague at work has the new iPod Nano. It's a beautiful thing. Several boys gathered around her desk to coo at it.
Some of us dribbled and one of the lads was close to tears.

Gromit, I would break that in a record of five seconds flat. That's if I could figure out how to switch the poxy thing on! (My own ipod is broken and I don't know how to fix it :0(

May I suggest that along with the tee-shirt you shout those same words at him while smacking him over the head with something heavy and wooden? That should do the trick.
I'm worried about the idea of you (and I think Grom's would too) salivating over a piece of technology. It's not healthy!!

CD, Have you tried causing Actual Bodily Harm to your iPod to make it work. It worked for me...
